Nintendo confirms a new console for 2012, playable at E3 2011

Hey, no more rumors! Nintendo’s chosen to go ahead and put the truth out there:

They will have a new console available in 2012, with a playable model’s debut set to occur at this year’s E3.

Here’s Nintendo’s short-but-sweet release, which is pretty light on the details, but it’s nice to put the speculation aside for some real information, even if there’s not a lot of it.

New bets are on the console’s name…and what it actually does (and how).

Good to know those anonymous sources were right. Now the world just waits for June.
