    EA launches Origin service

    This week EA announced a new direct-to-consumer gaming platform, Origin. Origin service is available now and gamers will be able to download content from EA. More than 150 games are currently available with exclusive editions of Battlefield 3, FIFA 12, Alice: Madness Returns and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Star Wars: The Old Republic will be available for digital downloads exclusively on Origin. This week the beta application was made available. In the app, players can find friends, see what they are playing and download games. “Origin is a game service with two fundamental features,” said David DeMartini, senior vice president of Global Online at EA. “It’s a download service for the very best content from EA and its partners.     Review: Kinect Sports

    Rating: E 10+ Developer: Rare Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios Platform: Xbox360 Release Date: November 4, 2010 BUY Ah, the game that no matter how I looked at it I kept thinking “Wii Sports?” As I have mentioned before I try to buy my games as cheap as possible, which for this one I confess I looked for a used copy.  My expectations were nothing more than a copy of what the Wii had done before.  So I was surprised when Kinect Sports ended up being different than what I was expecting. There seems to be a theme with Kinect titles that they feel the need to make the main menu interactive.  Kinect Sports allows you to play with the audience at the stadium making them do the wave, hear them cheer louder and fire off fireworks all for you.  Once you start the game you are presented with three choices:
