The Wii name lives on in Wii U

It’s not Wii University, even though it sounds like it. Wii U is the brand-new Nintendo console revealed this morning at Nintendo’s E3 press conference. Think about it like a couple of subject pronouns. We You. Something for everyone…and yourself, too. Nintendo representatives were very into emphasizing that this console would be for everyone, even the hardcore gamer. The console’s biggest feature is the controller, which features a 6.2″ touchscreen, a camera, two thumbsticks, a D-pad and more. Take a look at the announcement trailer to get a look at how it works: So you can play your Wii U game on the touchscreen if someone wants to watch television, use a stylus with the screen, and it looks like that screen is key to a ton of innovative ways to play games. ‘The Sims Social’ brings the popular franchise to your real social life

The Sims are making their way to Facebook, where you’ll lose even more of your free time playing with them. The Sims Social will launch this summer on Facebook in five languages. You’ll get to create a brand-new Sim, build it a home and then play with your real-life friends. EA Play announced that this title would have a companion mobile app available so that you don’t have to constantly nurse Facebook — you’ll be able to fulfill your Sim’s wants and needs on the go. In the game, you’ll be able to engage with every aspect of your character’s social life, including moments like the all-important first kiss. And, of course, this is Facebook, so you’ll be helping your friends with tasks. You might (cough) even make some Woohoo with them. Yeah. That could get awkward. But your Sim can take on your personality. “Just like you and me,

Interview: Shan Poon, PR & Marketing Manager at Two Tribes

Shan Poon from Two Tribes has told us that she has been playing video games since she was a little girl. She also says, “I had never imagined I would work in, or be a part of the gaming industry. Mostly because in my imagination I always thought only men were supposed to work in the gaming industry. So, after high school I choose to study social work and graduated, after spending two years in the field of social work I knew something was wrong. I knew this wasn’t really the field I wanted to work in, so I decided to take a risk and find my way towards the gaming industry. Then, at the age of 23 I choose to study Media and Entertainment Management with just one goal in mind, the gaming industry, I had to find an awesome internship and get them to hire me. Now here
