‘The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’ gets an anniversary edition, saves you $10 on Skyrim

Usually, we’re celebrating anniversaries when the numbers are a little larger, but I think this 5th Anniversary Edition of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will make a few people happy…if only because it helps you save on a copy of the fifth entry in the series, Skyrim. This special edition for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, which will retail for $29.99, includes a copy of the game as well as the “Knights of the Nine” and “Shivering Isles” expansions. In addition, North American consumers will also get a special Steelbook for storage, a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of the game and a full-color map. And oh yeah — that $10 Skyrim coupon. (Looks like you also have to get the strategy guide to get that deal, but based on this “300 hours” number I keep hearing bandied about…you might need it. Perhaps not such a good deal after

NBC hangs with GamingAngels at E3

Yesterday we kicked E3 off with a bang as we met up with the wonderful @JenniferNBCLA from NBC and took her with us to our Nintendo appointment. We spoke with @JenniferNBCLA about Women in Games, the latest figures on Women in Games (we’re at 42% now!) and the need to have more women in the industry! At the Nintendo booth, we were able to preview the Wii U on two games which we all played together. You can see us checking out the controller in the video below. I was able to escape our new NBC friend. Hopefully she had a great time and in the end, we made her an official GamingAngel! Enjoy! View more videos at: http://www.nbclosangeles.com. Follow

‘Pikmin’ is coming to Wii U, in case you were wondering

It’s a yearly tradition. Nintendo has a smaller, more intimate talk at every E3, and someone always asks, “So when’s the next Pikmin coming out?” Usually, there’s no answer. Or just some clever dodging. It’s been a decade since the two-game series’ last installment. So perhaps this question will never get answered. Nope. Despite the fact that Pikmin 3 has been in development for the Wii for quite a while, last night, Shigeru Miyamoto admitted that the next Pikmin title will be released on Wii U. Apparently, once he saw the new console’s improvements, that was enough to seal the deal. “I think that’s the perfect system for Pikmin. So we’re going to make it for that”, Miyamoto said. So, look for that…eventually. Follow

Dante returns in the latest trailer for ‘Devil May Cry’

Many people were a little bit upset at the latest portrayal of Devil May Cry‘s main character. This time, I think we’re getting a look at teen Dante. And his semi-emo haircut. In any case, that’s what it looks like. We all make some pretty bad hair decisions in our youth. Don’t discount him based on that. Enjoy the trailer, which Capcom debuted at E3. Follow

Featured Facebook Game of the Week – Uno Boost

Uno always reminds me of good times in college on the park bench with our beach umbrella and lawn chairs. So, when I found Uno Boost on Facebook, naturally it drew me in. Basically the difference between Uno and Uno Boost is that, when there are no playable cards in hand, it’s possible to choose from a selection of special cards from a panel to keep the turn going. Of course, the number of Boosts available is limited, which I actually appreciate it. Once I ran out, I felt like I got in the groove of playing with strategy. Playing and winning more hands earns coins which can be used to buy more Boost cards. In Uno Boost for Facebook, players play Uno against coaches, cavemen, sea creatures, aliens, and other interesting characters of varying difficulty levels that react to winning, losing, and changes in the luck of the draw
