Wednesday & Thursday SDCC schedule is up!

It’s the most wonderful time..of the year. That’s what I sing every year (for the past 13 years!) when San Diego Comic Con comes around. It’s not only my favorite convention, but the city is amazing too.
I have been complaining on Twitter that the schedule has not come out yet. Well the SDCC gods must have heard me because the schedule for Preview Night and Thursday is now out. It has many surprises already and I’m so pumped I can hardly sit still through work.
Leading up to SDCC, I will be writing preview articles as well as what tips I’ve learned after 13 years at SDCC. Yes, this will be my 14th year. I used to go as a regular attendee before GamingAngels existed. It was such a different convention back then and I look forward to seeing how SDCC changes as some studios start pulling out of the event.
Let’s go over what I’m loving about Preview Night and Thursday.
Preview Night is tough because it’s generally the night you can run around and get exclusives. It’s really difficult to get them during the week because you are battling more people. There is a preview of The Secret Circle which I may have to see cause I’m so curious about the show which is going to be on CW this fall. Other than that, we also have Activision later that night.
Thursday is run and gun baby! The action starts! The first thing to know about Thursday (and probably starting 5am Wednesday) is to avoid Hall H. Twilight is in Hall H at 11:15 and you know it’s going to be chaos. So just avoid it and be happy that the scheduling gods got Twilight out of the way early.
I start with a conflict right away. I want to see Journey from ThatGameCompany at 10am but there is also the Kinect Star Wars Panel. That will be a game time decision mostly based on how long the line is. From there I will go to Evolution of Web Series to hear more about the new Dragon Age web series, Redemption. Also it should have good tips for those of you that are inspired to start your own web series. From there is a Battlestar panel (because I love Battlestar so much– So Say We all!), and then off to Konami. At 1, I’m going to the Marvel Digital comics discussion, although 1:45 is Sarah Michelle Geller talking about her new tv show Ringer. Which might be interesting.
From there at 2, I’ll try to see Mortal Kombat: Legacy information. Bryan Singer is going to be in attendance. Although I may have to go early and fight my way to the Game of Thrones panel at 3. That is a must especially since Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) will be there! Yum!
At 4 I’ll go to No Damsels in Distress Here and then get ready for the Showtime Panel which includes information on Dexter. From there, it will be a quick shower and start the night. But the Dr. Horrible Sing Along Blog is sooo tempting.
First rule of SDCC is be flexible. Have not one panel but like two more backups, because you may not get in. The absolute best thing you can do is download the official iPhone app. I checked the app and it’s not updated yet with the schedule. But hopefully will be soon.
Are you going to SDCC? Let’s make time to meet up! I’ll have buttons to give away and will be taping interviews with our fans to say hi to everyone!
I’ll be back with a look at Friday and Saturday programming soon!
