Nintendo adds value line of games

Saving money is on everyone’s mind right now. The first thing that affects is the entertainment budget. But Nintendo is trying to help with their Nintendo Selects collection. These games are typically fan favorites (read…games that sold well) and are now being offered at a cheaper price of $19.99 each. Starting Aug. 28, the Nintendo Selects lineup grows to include Super Paper Mario™, Mario Strikers™ Charged, Punch-Out!!™ and Super Mario Galaxy™. If you think, well everyone must have these, think again. Many people wait for sales and then forget to pick up games that they are looking for. Now they can get them for cheap! The other games in the Select Collection are The Legend of Zelda™: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing™: City Folk, Mario™ Super Sluggers and Wii Sports™. Head to Nintendo site to read more about the Nintendo program. Follow

‘Battlefield 3′ has 64-person multiplayer and looks good doing it

Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard. That’s what kind of ridiculous this Battlefield 3 trailer happens to be. Here, you’ll see a 64-player battle in the Caspian Sea. You’ll have traditional ground troops, sure, but you can also take to the skies…or a tank. Kaboom. Of course, my main concern here is that sometimes I have problems coordinating things with less than ten people. What happens when I’m trying to get 31 others to cooperate? Oh, the crashing and burning that will happen. Follow

New RealID feature not going to be premium says Blizzard

I’ve enjoyed following what Blizzard has been doing with the RealID functionality. I like the community aspect, and it’s great to keep in touch with friends on other World of Warcraft realms as well as some friends who just play Starcraft II. What I haven’t liked is that some of the more interesting features like the mobile auction house and guild chat for WoW come at an extra cost. Thankfully their latest feature for WoW players who have RealID activated is that you can invite your friends on other realms of the same factions to a party. And as stated today this feature will remain free! We’re happy to announce that the testing period for World of Warcraft’s new Real ID Party system is now complete, and the feature is now officially live! We received a lot of great feedback from the community throughout the course of our testing, and

Combat takes center stage in the latest ‘Mass Effect 3′ trailer

What sort of combat will you be involved in during Mass Effect 3? This trailer makes it pretty clear that it’s more shooting. At the very least, BroShep is shooting things…and also setting things (okay, people) on fire. No FemShep? Even after we had to vote for her? Oh well. Take a look: Mass Effect 3 releases next March. Review: Age of Empires Online

Rating: E10+ Genre: MMO/RTS Publisher: Microsoft Game Studio Developer: Gas Powered Games Release Date: August 16, 2011 BUY I have been an Age of Empires fan since the Age of Empires II days. It was my first RTS that I’ve ever played and it cemented my love of the genre. So you can imagine when I heard that there was going to be an Age of Empires Online game, I was intrigued. I figured it would have a lot more PvP aspects to it, and ones that would hopefully be easier to find others to play with than the random matchmaking that had frequent disconnects that I remember from previous titles. Well I’ve spent approximately the last week playing Age of Empires Online and well, I liked it. Now there are some things that I didn’t really like or were a bit clunky, but overall I enjoyed myself and will

Interview: Brenda Holzknecht, Supreme Enabler at Geek Chic Furniture

While at a convention Gaming Angels Cherithe came across some beautiful hand made furniture for table top gaming. They also had storage solutions for comics and collectibles. Geek Woman was happy to interview Brenda Holzknecht Supreme Enabler at Geek Chic Furniture. Geek Woman: What was it that inspired you to start making furniture for gamers? Brenda Holzknecht: Well, being gamers, it was originally all about making furniture for ourselves. We gamers are a “can do” bunch. We can design and make our own furniture, but we realized sometimes it’s nice not to spend your time making the furniture as much as playing with the furniture. Wanting to spend your off time in a pleasant environment, gaming with a group of your friends is what it is all about. Not spending your off time designing, making and in many cases educating yourself on furniture building and manufacturing…a skill that many will

Here’s the Gamescom trailer for ‘DOTA 2′

DOTA 2‘s shopkeeper is very interested in helping you out. But he wants to help you only in the ways that you need it. If you’re swift, you get something to enhance that. Same with strength. His plan does make sense. This is DOTA 2‘s Gamescom trailer, and I have the feeling that it would be very gameplay-driven — if DOTA 2 weren’t making its official debut at the show. You know, at the tournament with the $1 million prize. Follow
