    Weekly Roundup Episode 20

This one got recorded a little late, so you get it a little late — apologies! But yay, it’s our 20th show! And Summer is back! This week, it’s mostly a Gamescom wrap-up, with new hardware up for discussion. We also talk about the London riots and why GTA isn’t causing them, why getting EA’s games back on Steam would be awesome and SWTOR’s artificial limiting. We’re still giving away a copy of RIFT, too, so listen for that! Download the mp3 here. Be sure to let us know what you think using iTunes’ review system! Subscribe to the show here. Follow

PlayStation Home is getting a much-needed renovation

PlayStation Home is relaunching with a new look. This fall, what we previously knew as the Central Plaza will become “The Hub,” and from there, you move on to several themed areas. The Hub itself will feature a questing mechanic, meaning that Home might actually feel like…a game. You know, instead of a weird place where you just kind of dance with no one and occasionally watch a video or two. The Hub also serves as a…well, hub…for community events, shopping and user-generated content. Here’s a description of every new addition: The Hub: The new, futuristic Hub brings games directly to players with a featured game front-and-center upon login, the Activity Board where players can engage in quests and community activities, and a direct path to free games via the teleporter. Action District: A gathering place for the hardcore demographic, the Action District has a gritty, urban feel reminiscent of

Interview: Deanna Nygren 3D artist for Certain Affinity

Crimson Alliance is an action role playing game for Xbox live arcade, set to be released September 7th.  I had the amazing opportunity to talk to one of the many talents behind this game, that has also worked in the upcoming Halo anniversary edition.  Deanna Nygren not only is capable of balancing her 3D artist job, but keeps up and plays video games in her spare time. GamingAngels: So what attracted you to working as a 3D artist? Deanna Nygren: It was my interest in technology, videogames, problem solving and love for fantasy/sci-fi that initially helped steer me towards a career as a 3d artist.  Additionally, I was attracted to working within a collaborative team environment, having artistic freedom and the portrayed culture of game development studios. Have you always wanted to create games? I knew I always wanted to be an artist.  Before my decision to get into games
