Sony reveals PS Vita battery life, additional accessories

In a press release that detailed all of PlayStation Vita’s specs, Sony also made a few notes about accessories available on release, battery life and the need for additional memory. Vita will have a wide assortment of official peripherals and accessories available on the Japanese release date. In addition to more charging cables, screen protectors, a headset and several pouches and cases, Sony is also marketing memory cards. Why do this? Well, according to the release, the Vita has no onboard hard drive space at all. “Some PS Vita software titles may require the use of separately sold memory card for saving game’s saved data while some software titles are capable of saving it on to the PS Vita card itself,” the press release notes. “Please refer to the PS Vita game packages or game manuals for further details.” Slightly weird English, but you get the idea. So at least

PAX First Look: Mass Effect 3

It’s no secret that I’m a huge Mass Effect fan, and I partially blame my boyfriend and Bioware for this. So expectedly the Mass Effect 3 booth was one of my first stops at Pax! After being shown a great montage of what has happened in the previous two games, we were ushered into another room to get a briefing on what our mission was going to be. This was great since they had the room set up with a table that had a screen in it displaying key facts of the mission as EDI talks to you about it as well. After the briefing was when the fun really happened: I got to play a mission in Mass Effect 3! Now, admittedly I’ve been worried over various parts of the game. “Is it going to be like more of a shooter?” “What’s going on with this ‘multiplayer’ talk?” I’ve

    PAX Preview: Dungeon Overlord

Dungeon Overlord is a web based, player vs. player, strategy game on Facebook.  WAIT! DONT GO AWAY JUST YET!  If you are anything like me, as soon as I see ‘Facebook’ my brain shuts down and all I can think of is “Great…one more game to block from my Facebook feed.”  But hold on for a sec and let me explain what Dungeon Overlord is about before you jump into that conclusion. First of all, Dungeon Overlord is set up more like a MMORPG, where you can see a full world and see all the other gamers that are currently playing the game.  Since it is a PVP, you’ll then be able to compete against them for territorial space.  If you like to just run around killing things, the game also has a Player vs. Environment part, allowing you to kill every stinking Elf in the land!  Side note: Elves

Give ‘Orcs Must Die!’ a shot in this interactive trailer

For everyone who hasn’t gotten to try Orcs Must Die!, this trailer lets you give the game a shot. Sure, it’s not the same as going to PAX and playing it with a controller, but it’s as close to a demo as you’re going to get. Unless Robot Entertainment actually releases a demo. That’ll be a bit better. There are over 30 possible endings to this — which one will you get? Follow
