Game of Thrones Genesis trailer for upcoming release

At E3 this year one of the games I was assigned to check out was Game of Thrones Genesis. Unfortunately there wasn’t an opportunity to see the actual game, but now we have a trailer. Game of Thrones Genesis is set to launch for PC next week on September 29th. Game of Thrones Genesis is a strategy pc game that puts the gamer in the fight between the houses. Just watching Game of Thrones on HBO you could imagine how powerful a strategy game in that world will be if done right. The game is based in the same world, but I don’t think it features voices from the show. It can definitely hold it’s own as an experience to further enjoy the works of George R.R. Martin. I love the soundtrack of the trailer, but let me know what you think?

Review – Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Rating: M (Mature 17+: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence) Genre: Action Publisher: THQ Developer: Relic Entertainment Release Date: September 6, 2011 BUY Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine was one of those games I saw at this past E3 and brushed it off over the droll name. Space Marine? How unoriginal could you get? I was talked into waiting in the line at the THQ booth anyway, and after that ten minute demo, I knew I needed this game. Space Marine is aptly set on a distant planet, one that humans are in the process of inhabiting and one that Orks are in the process of invading. The player takes on the role of Captain Titus of the Ultramarines, a highly decorated veteran of numerous wars. It his job to stop the Ork invasion long enough so that the Liberation Fleet can break through and save the day. It sounds contrite and

    J. J. Abrams to Direct Second Star Trek Movie

It’s official: J.J. Abrams has signed on for a second installment of the re-booted Star Trek franchise.  IMDB still shows that there will be a 2012 release date, but given that they also show that the overall plot has not been settled, that seems unlikely to me, but who knows? Hollywood can move fast when there is money to be made. I know I said before that sequels make me nervous, but I still have high hopes for this one. The first J.J. Abrams installment was just so cool! I really enjoyed the way they hit all of the important touchpoints of the Star Trek universe, but still made it different. The cast was amazing, too. I could wish for a few more female stars, but I did like that they made Zoe Saldana’s Uhura intelligent and not just decorative. As far as plot goes, there is not a lot

Talking WoW lore with Richard Knaak

I was recently given the chance to pose some questions to Richard Knaak, one of the lucky authors who has had the pleasure to write several novels set in the World of Warcraft universe. His latest novel, Wolfheart was recently released just this past week. In it we learn more about what has happened with the Night Elves, how the Worgen came to be part of the Alliance and even some deeper story with Varian Wrynn. I’ve wanted to ask Mr. Knaak some questions about his involvement with the WoW universe, and I had a couple more after reading Wolfheart, which he was gracious enough to answer! @stealthyslyth: What first attracted you to write for the Warcraft universe? Knaak: Blizzard had created a world so rich in character and history that one could not help be drawn into it. It had many of the features that I’ve always enjoyed in

Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright look great in their DS collaboration

Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney doesn’t even have a confirmed release anywhere except Japan, but trailers like this make me dream about having it in my hands. It just looks so…different. But also…so, so good. Take a look: And hey, it’s subtitled for your enjoyment.

Interview: Veronica Tegan Founder of Team Robot

What does Team Robot do? Team Robot was founded by myself, Eric Coley and Peter Coley. We help people play games better, including ourselves. We develop applications that provide real-time strategy for use in-game. The applications do some pretty complex math on the backend, so gamers can spend more time playing games instead solving math riddles. Our first suite of tools support World of Warcraft players, suggesting the best gear, gems, enchants and reforges. We’re launching support for League of Legends later this year, and continuing our expansion to Star Wars The Old Republic, Diablo 3, and more. What was your job at Xfire? I started at Xfire as the first person to support the sales team, which was 2 people at that time. This included handling contract details, testing ads, creating new advertising programs, implementing ad server technology, and of course, tracking revenue. I basically did everything that wasn’t
