Anyone Have a Fitbit Ultra?
When I reviewed the Fitbit Ultra awhile back, I mentioned the community aspects of the website. You can find friends through Facebook or your email. There is a leaderboard ranking you against your friends in overall steps, Active Points, distance traveled and minutes spent per day being very active. I have some coworkers as friends on the site, and I do find it motivating–if only because I don’t want to drop to the bottom of the list,
.You can also join or create a group on the site based on your goals, interests, or offline relationships. I didn’t join any groups for a long time, because it seemed a bit artificial to me–I didn’t really know any of the people, and I had no idea what we would talk about. After a while I got to thinking, though, who else do I know that might be interested in some gadgetry and friendly competition? Who else but all of you gaming angels? So, I created a group called She’s Geeky, after our parent company, and I am at the top of the leaderboard, woohoo! Of course, I am also at the bottom of the leaderboard, since I am the only group member. Somehow, I suspect this would be even more motivating if there were other people in the group.
The groups are a cool feature, but there is no way to search for the group you want, so it is a bit tricky to find me. If you go to the Friends section and invite friends via email, you can find me at quinn@gamingangels.com. Anyone can see my groups on my profile page, and this is the only group I have.
Please come join me and let’s get fit together!
