‘Killzone 3′ launches standalone multiplayer next week
On the latest edition of the PlayStation Blogcast, the crew revealed that a standalone version of Killzone 3‘s multiplayer is on the way. What’s more is that this version of the game’s multiplayer is, in essence, free-to-play. It’s a free download, with a level cap, and if you want to unlock the “full” experience, that’s $14.99.
The game will be available for download this Tuesday.
Will this set a precedent for other games? If this is successful, will we see other games’ multiplayer modes become available without purchasing the entire game? It could definitely make the FPS market look a lot more interesting.
