‘Resistance: Burning Skies’ release date announced

If you’re waiting for a shooter to go with your new Vita, it looks like you’ll be waiting until May 29, when Resistance: Burning Skies is released. Fun fact: The folks over at Sony are calling this the first-ever dual-analog FPS game on a portable device, and I believe them.

The game has been built to take advantage of everything the Vita has to offer, including touchscreen and rear touch panel controls.

It takes place during a Chimeran invasion on the East Coast of the U.S. in August 1951, and you play as firefighter Tom Riley, who gets thrown into the whole mess.

The folks over at Sony are pretty excited about the two sticks-thing — and really, who can blame them? Gamers have been wanting a true FPS experience on the go for years, so it’s only a matter of time before we find out whether or not Burning Skies can actually deliver.
