‘Escape Plan’ adds free DLC levels

The first DLC pack for Escape Plan on PS Vita will be free and implemented via Patch 1.01, Fun Bits Interactive Team Lead Chris Millar wrote on PlayStation.Blog yesterday. The free DLC, available April 10, adds 19 prequel puzzle rooms to the adventure, where you’ll have to prevent Lil and Laarg from turning into giant sausages. Not only that, but the patch allows for better accuracy on tap blocks as well as an adjustment to the star ratings the game offers after finishing a level. Other improvements have also been added based on player feedback. If you want to pick up Escape Plan prior to the patch dropping (and yeah, you should want to — it’s one of the better Vita games available right now), it’ll set you back $14.99 and a little bit of download time. ‘Sword & Sworcery EP’ coming to PC and Mac

Capy has announced that a new, point-and-click version of Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP for PC and Mac will be available this year. The new version will be playable at PAX East (Capy is part of the Indie Megabooth). The PC version will come first, with the game landing on Steam “before the next dark moon.” Mac will come shortly afterward, sometime “before the summer solstice.” This version of the game is modified slightly to better suit the mouse-wielding audience. (Though I have to wonder if that Twitter integration will stick around — #sworcery!) Follow

Project Runway Finalists makes STEM careers fab

Encouraging young women to go into STEM careers is a passion for us at GamingAngels. We have our National Computer Camp scholarship and now Project Runway All-Stars finalist Jerell Scott is helping out. Space Center Houston has kicked off it’s Diva Design Series for more than two hundred greater Houston area middle school girls. The effort kicked off on March 29,2012. The Diva Design Series, an all-inclusive program sponsored by Schlumberger, was developed to promote interest among middle school girls in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. “I never imagined that I would attend as a guest to support science careers and education,” Scott said. “How cool is that?” The first session challenged students to design appropriate fashion for live on Mars. Scott worked with NASA Space Suit engineer Heather Paul to talk about fashion design techniques. Space Center Houston’s science performer, “Rad Rhonda gave presentations on how the

Oni Press started this week with a few announcements coming off of Emerald City Comic Con. Penny Arcade will be teaming up with Oni Press for Magical Kids in Danger. Magical Kids in Danger will be a collection of every Penny Arcade comic from 2007. “I’ve been a fan of Penny Arcade’s irreverent take on gaming culture for a long time,” George Rohac, operations director of Oni Press, added. “We always read their comics in the office, and for several years, our company has been exhibiting at PAX, the gaming festival the Jerry and Mike organize with their business partners. I’ve always felt the two endeavors were simpatico. The same people who read Penny Arcade and play video games are likely to dig Scott Pilgrim and The Sixth Gun, and vice versa.” Penny Arcade Vol 8: Magical Kids in Danger will be released on August 29,2012 for $14.99. Sign up for Instagram on Android

Taking pictures on your phone has become a new artform. Instagram is so popular there are businesses around various ways to print your Instagram pics. Sadly when I walked away from Apple iPhone, I also said goodbye to Instagram. Currently there is no program for Instagram on Android and really there isn’t a fit substitution. It looks like Instagram is looking to change that by offering signup for Instagram on Android. There is no official date on when the program will be released. Also no information on what you are signing up for. It can be an email when Instagram for Android is released or it can be signups for a beta program. Either way…I’ve already signed up. Follow

Mega Bloks passport preview showcases toys I need

Today we received an email sending us to the Mega Bloks preview site. You might remember that at BlizzCon last year we talked about these awesome MegaBloks that were World of Warcraft themed. We saw them in person at BlizzCon and now they have revealed even more details on their passport site. There is a Faction Pack that will average 25 pieces. They look great! Although I do hope they have female versions, none are shown in the prototypes. The collectible mounts are great. I love the Swift Gryphon one. There will be Deathwing’s Stormwind assault which will include a Deathwing and Stormwind. These sets are anything but small. The Sindragosa and the Lich King set are 150 pieces. The Demolisher Attack is 299 pieces and the Goblin Zeppelin is 310 pieces. There are still unannounced products and exclusives still to be announced. Hopefully that includes female characters. Book Review – Bunny in the Moon: The Art of Tara McPherson Vol. III

Writer and Artist: Tara McPherson Publication Date: March 14, 2012 Format: Full Color, 112 pages, Hardcover, 8 1/2″ x 11″ Price: $23.99 Genre: Art Book Bunny in the Moon is Tara McPherson’s latest art book, available from Dark Horse. Featuring new works and sculpture, McPherson explores love, loss, strength, vulnerability and female empowerment through a combination of mythology and folklore with a modern senseiblity creating 112 pages of imagery that makes me think of the nightmare version of CandyLand. As an aspiring artist, I’m fascinated with “Art of” books because they’re usually either a peek behind the creation process of the way a movie/game ends up looking or it’s a nice collection of a particular artist’s work. I had a peripheral knowledge of McPherson’s work before reviewing this book, so I had an idea of what to expect visual-wise. What I wasn’t expecting was to have about two-thrids of the

DC Entertainment and 3000 AD Announce Line of Defense

3000 AD and DC Entertainment are bringing comic books fans to the edge of conflict with Line of Defense. A video game where forces are trying to take over the resources of a distant planet and build a super weapon, all of which causes conflict for Galactic Command, Line of Defense was designed by veteran Derek Smart and developed by 3000 AD. For many years the Terran military forces of GALCOM have been engaged in various conflicts with the Insurgents– a splinter group of military personnel opposed to the Terran governing body. In a surprise move, the Insurgents setup shop on the long abandoned planet of Lyrius, previously used by GALCOM for weapons testing, R&D and other forms of military operations. This move wouldn’t normally warrant a deep space troop deployment, except for the fact that the Insurgents were rumored to be developing a super weapon on the planet. Firefight, a special limited-edition,“First Issue”
