    The E3 2012 Konami Lineup

    Konami had a fairly impressive display of what they are releasing this year and even next year. While most of their focus is on their Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania franchises, they had a smattering of other new IPs as well as a couple of Facebook games. Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance - Early 2013 Ignore the fact that “revengeance” isn’t even a word and focus on the fact that it’s not a traditional MGS game. It takes place shortly after the events of MGS4, and the main character is Raiden, not our Solid Snake. As such, it’s more action-based instead of stealth. In other words, it’s a game I can play without hurling my controller across the room. Raiden wields a katana and the mighty power of the ZanDatsu, allowing him to cut through virtually anything, including helicopters. If the line wasn’t so long, I would have played the demo based on

    E3 2012 Hands-on Preview: Spec Ops The Line

    I may be the resident shooter expert, but even I have a hard time getting excited when I see new military shooters. They all start to blend together after awhile. When I strolled up to play Spec Ops: The Line at the Take Two Interactive booth, I was already feeling the “meh” building up. I am so glad I was wrong. Unlike most of the military shooters on the showroom floor, this demo was for the single-player campaign, not the multiplayer. The 2K Games rep explained that they had a great story to tell with Spec Ops, and they wanted to demonstrate that over a multiplayer mode that will feel just like every other shooter. Let’s face it; no matter what new features a military shooter claims to have in multiplayer, they all feel the same after awhile. Hardly any of them have a great story, so I was instantly curious.
