E3 Giveaway Borderlands 2 Loot!
At E3 this year, Keri and I got a quick hands on with Borderlands 2. The original Borderlands is a personal favorite for myself and my husband. We played the game together until we had exhausted everything in the game. We initially covered Borderlands 2 about a year ago at PAX Prime. Our E3 meeting was my personal first hands on with the game.
We walked into a room with demo stations setup and very little else explained. The attitude was probably…the game will speak for itself.
To start, we had 20 skill points to add to our skill trees. The menu system has been vastly improved. I reserve full judgement until I’m seen it in action in split screen which is how the hubby and I will play. But for the single player experience, it’s definitely an improvement.
Our mission was set in Opportunity City and was to hack into some sort of droid that will go around and blow up Statues that Handsome Jack put up. An ode to himself of sorts. We weren’t given much background to that objective, but if we finished the demo, we got a code to keep the best gun in the game when we purchased it at release.
There are some new classes of robots that we had to attack. Definitely more difficult than previous. But you also get great weapons to take them down with. Once the droid is hacked, we have to follow it around from statue to statue. Our job is to protect the droid and keep it’s health above 50%. Unfortunately for us….we did not. But every time we did, Claptrap had a funny thing to say to us that had us dying in laughter.
Borderlands 2 has the great humor that the franchise is known for. The title is set for a September 18th release date in North America. For me, it’s a no-brainer purchase. If you haven’t played the original, I highly recommend you do and get ready for the sequel. Borderlands and Gearbox do not disappoint.
We didn’t finish the objective, but we do have a giveaway for you (first in a series of E3 giveaways). We have a Borderlands 2 PC Loot code. All you have to do is comment below why you can’t wait for Borderlands 2 and we’ll choose a random winner from the comments. We have at least one code to giveaway maybe two.
Here is a video from IGN that shows the objective we played:
