Nintendo Announces Wii U Launch Date and Launch Lineup

For those who aren’t on Twitter or haven’t been on today and seen the onslaught of tweets, Nintendo announced this morning at their Wii U event in New York that the Wii U will be launching on November 18, 2012 in two different packages. The Basic Set will come in white at $299.99, while the Deluxe Set is black, includes a higher storage capacity, “additional accessories,” and Nintendo Land all for $349.99. Games

Both sets include the Nintendo TVii app, Nintendo’s answer to Apple TV. TVii lets viewers watch video via the Wii U from numerous sources, including live TV, TiVo or DVR, and other video services like Netflix. No other video services were confirmed at this point, but we will assume that Hulu Plus and Amazon Video will make their way over to the device, if they aren’t present already.

Curious about the launch lineup? Oh Nintendo came out swinging with those tidbits, right after announcing that Bayonetta 2 will be a Wii U exclusive. Chew on that for a second or two while you peruse the following list of launch (launch window=Nov 18-Mar 31) games:
