Ubisoft and Sony have revealed the PS3-exclusive content for Assassin’s Creed III will include four exclusive single-player missions featuring the infamous American traitor, Benedict Arnold. Connor will be sent to hunt down Arnold in what sounds like a (fairly) historically accurate scenario. From the official description:
The PS3-exclusive four-mission arc begins with a special request from General Washington in exposing a rumored plot to overthrow West Point, a critical link in the defense of the Colonies against Great Britain. Across four missions, Connor will flush out Loyalist spies and work undercover for Benedict Arnold, culminating in a full-blown assault on West Point that Connor must halt at all costs.
For those who slept through American History in high school, Fort West Point was a strategic point in the Revolutionary war, as American forces attempted to block British ships from the Hudson River. Benedict Arnold was the general assigned to Fort West Point and plotted to surrender to the Brits. Needless to say, a dashing assassin didn’t appear in our text books in school but we have to admit we like the sound of this. Though some Assassin’s Creed fans are a little miffed about storied content being exclusive to the PS3.
Assassin’s Creed III releases next week, October 30, 2012, for Xbox 360 and PS3.
