On Wednesday Capcom confirmed that an update for Resident Evil 6 will be available in “mid-December” for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners. The update will add a “No Hope” mode which is supposed to be “really tough,” as well as co-op for Ada Wong’s campaign. Because, you know, we were totally waiting for that. In addition, the update will make Ada’s campaign playable from the get-go, as opposed to an unlockable after completing the rest of the other three campaigns. Also, it sounds as though they’re fixing the camera zoom and control which will be a boon.
This is the update that, a couple of weeks ago caused a tizzy when it was discovered on -disc, leading many to believe Capcom was back to its on-disc shenanigans. Fortunately, Capcom revealed that it was really a free update, and that RE6’s DLC plans are far more robust and decidedly not on the retail disc.
Resident Evil 6 released October 9, 2012.
