    Nintendo announces many Luigi games and upcoming titles

    This morning Nintendo made quite a few announcements to show some LOVE to their fans. The largest announcement being that Luigi will be taking center stage this year. In the video below, Nintendo shows details on not just one Luigi game but four. Also shown is information on content for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

    “Luigi is just the green tip of the iceberg of all the great news we have to share with Nintendo fans this year and beyond,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s president and COO. “We’re showing how Nintendo 3DS and Wii U continue to be a source of fun, entertainment and great surprises.”

    Announced as part of the Year of Luigi is:

    1. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon – Launches March 24
    2. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team – a new RPG coming to 3DS this summer
    3. New Super Luigi U – coming to the Wii U as downloadable content
    4. Fore! – a golf game for the 3DS

    Also announced for the 3DS:

    1. Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D – Watch 3D video now on the Nintendo Eshop
    2. Turning over a New Leaf – Animal Crossing coming on June 9. (<3)
    3. Animal Style: Style Savvy – brand new clothes available for download
    4. The Chase Begins: Lego City Undercover: launches April 21
    5. Downloadable games coming to the eShop
    6. New Maps for Fire Emblem
    7. Two classic Game Boy color games coming to the virtual console
    8. Buy and register a Nintendo 3DS XL and get a free game (either Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity between March 21 and April 30.
    9. Demo of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate will be in the eShop on February 28. The full game is available on March 5

    For the brand new Wii U, the following was announced:

    1. A Miiverse community dedicated to Zelda launches today
    2. Lego City Comes to Life
    3. City Mapping powered by Google is available for download
    4. The following third party games are coming to the Wii U: Bit.Trip Presents…Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, Zen Pinball 2, Toki Tori 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted U, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, and Injustice Gods Among Us.
