Publisher, PlayFirst has released Hotel Dash to the Apple Apps Store. Hotel Dash joins Diner Dash, Cooking Dash and Wedding Dash. Hotel Dash promises vertical twist to the patented DASH gameplay mechanic. Quinn and Flo open and renovate a series of hotels and attend to the guests via an elevator. Players jump into a time management puzzle that sends them on an up and down adventure through three uniquely themed hotels. Indie game developer, Grid Monsters has announced Hungry Helga will be coming soon for the iPhone and iPad. The game focuses on keeping viking Helga full of fish. Players tap the screen and fire cannonballs at the fish. This allows player to scoop them up and into Helga’s mouth. The game promises an easy ramp up period becoming more strategic and challenging.

Players will have to compete with sharks and seagulls for fish and will need to make sure Helga doesn’t become too skinny. If she does, Helga will become angry and players will feel her rage.

Word Quest has found the sweet spot between challenging and fun. Available on both the iPhone and the iPad –I reviewed the iPhone version. Word Quest is a word search game that has found a way to integrate a childhood paper bound game with modern touch screen technology. For the most part it really works well. The game features multiple variations of puzzles and has tons of replay revalue. At $.99, it’s quite a deal! The gameplay is addictive and the simple design makes Word Quest a quality title. It doesn’t feature an extensive sound track or overly flashy graphics because it’s not trying to be anything other than a word search game. For a someone who loves word games, this is exactly the game it should be.

Word Quest for the iPhone is not with out its faults though. The touch screen makes tracing the words awkward and it can sometimes feel frustrating. Racing the clock to find and then trace hidden words on a small iPhone screen makes Word Quest in to a good game with a clunky interface. This was not enough to ruin the game and I found Word Quest to be fun. The game might be better suited for the iPad with a bigger screen.

Word Quest had many word categories with both an easy and a hard mode and players can share their scores using the global leaderboard. Players can also take advantage of Twitter and Facebook integration.

At $.99 for either the iPhone and iPad versions, I give Word Quest a BUY.

Ivanovich Games has announced Time Geeks: Find all! for iOS. Time Geeks is a seek and find game featuring pixel art graphics and retro fun. The graphics and the original music are designed by the artist Markus Gmur.  The gameplay promises 6 game modes, with 7 mini-games, and more than 100 challenges.  Time Geeks also includes OpenFeint integration so player can share records and show off achievements.

The Namco PC hit Mishap:  An Accidental Haunting has been released for the iPhone and iPad.  In this hidden object games, you play as the Burtons, a young couple who have just moved in to their dream home. As they are preparing to move, they are visited by a self proclaimed paranormal expert who helps the couple get rid of ghosts by finding hidden objects. Mishap features 32 rooms and is full of riddles and mini games.

Mishap: An Accidental Haunting is now available from the Apple Apps Store. The iPhone version is $4.99 while the iPad version is $6.99.
