Toonami is BACK on May 26th
Well Toonami fans, Adult Swim has answered your prayers. Returning on May 26th is the exciting block of action cartoons and anime. Adult Swim’s April Fools Joke was to play their old Toonami block for one night which set the internet afire as fans told other fans resulting in no one sleeping. Now, Adult Swim has recently announced that the block will be returning. Toonami was one of the few sources for great anime back in the day. It showed the likes of Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Yu Yu Hakasho, Outlaw Star, several Gundam titles, etc. Twenty-something anime fans probably owe quite a lot to Toonami and, now, we get to relive those sleepless Saturday nights of our youth. It is unsure if Toonami will run alongside the current Adult Swim programming, but we shall all find out on May 26. Just to add a bit of nostalgia, here is

DC Comics and Entertainment Reveals New Logo
Perhaps DC Comics’ needs a new graphic designer. Their latest logo reveal has many people scratching their heads as to why this would even remotely be consider a good logo redesign. Maybe adding color would be better? Or maybe the logo is just boring and dull. For a company that has so many amazing things going for it, this newest logo does not seem to represent that. It is a D peeling back to reveal a C. Somewhat. This new logo has been registered for trademark for all sorts of products: comics, food, household items, etc. This is not the first time DC has changed it’s logo: Personally, the current logo represents a comic based company brilliantly: dynamic blue and white colors; amazing, swooping star. It just screams action and excitement. This newest logo. Well. It just seems out of place. Of course this could merely be a provisional trademarking, but

With so much DC and Marvel talk, most people that are not avid comic fans seem to forget about a little gem called Image Comics. Image is a wonderful publisher as it allows creators to publish their own work and material without giving up copyrights to their characters. Some very popular works that are published by Image include The Walking Dead, Spawn, Invincible, and Morning Glories. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publisher, a 3-day convention is being held on February 24-26 at the Oakland Convention Center in Oakland, California. Review: Footprints #1
Big Foot. Yeti. The Loch Ness Monster. What do all of these things have in common? Well, they are mysterious creatures whose existence has not one hundred percent been proven, but still have tons of loyal believers across the world. They offer a sense of wonder and mystery in the world at large. Footprints takes these cryptids and puts them in a noir setting as they, along with the Jersey Devil and the giant shark Megalodon, set out to solve the murder of BigFoot’s brother. The first aspect of Footprints that drew me in was the beautiful black and white art because, lets face it, if you are going to do a detective comic then black and white is the way to go. The detail in the art is incredible and really gives a sense of a gritty mystery world. The cryptids are a part of this world, fitting perfectly from their speech and demeanor. Speaking

Holy Tantrum, Batman! Barnes and Nobles Removing DC Comics
I casually strolled into a Barnes and Nobles this past weekend in search of Batman and Robin Vol 2. Upon finding the graphic novel/manga section of this particular B&N, I noticed a lack in all things DC related. There was about one shelf still containing what once was a great selection of decent DC graphic novels for both old and new fans. The very popular Batman comic The Killing Joke still graced the shelves in this store, but other popular comics had already been removed. Who knows how long Killing Joke and the other DC graphic novel survivors will stay on the shelves. In something that can only be described as a huge tantrum, Barnes and Nobles will be removing 100 DC graphic novels from their shelves. Some of these novels include the classic Watchmen, the popular Blackest Night, several Batman titles, V for Vendetta, etc. The removal is in response to the
