Wappy Customization Screenshots too cute for words

Today we have a special treat for GamingAngels readers! We have an exclusive look at customization for your Wappy pet. If you don’t remember, Wappy is a small, doglike robot that you control with your Nintendo DS. Ever since this year’s E3, when the Wappy was announced by Sega and Activision, we at GamingAngels have been dying for more information. Now we can finally bring it to you!

In the picture above we can see that Wappy owners will be able to customize their physical Wappy with an array of stickers. The set of stickers with the Wappy above seem to include paw prints, colors for the eyes, and a cute scarf. Doggy scarves? Super important. Wappy owners can also make their Wappy have spots as in the picture below:

Wappy can go full Dalmatian in a matter of minutes.

We also have an exclusive look at how Wappy is customized in-game. Below are screenshots that show Wappy customization in “Travel Mode,” which allows on-the-go players to interact with and virtually care for their Wappy, though they may be miles from home. If only real dogs worked that way! (By the way, Home Mode is where the Wappy owner can engage with the dog using the Nintendo DS.)

It looks like Wappy owners will be able to change their virtual Wappy’s color and unlock new colors to use on the virtual Wappy model. We can also see that the game will show you what mood your Wappy is in, and there seems to be a friendship bar with a certain number of hearts. In these screenshots, the hearts are empty, but I’m sure we’ll hear soon what it will take to fill the hearts. Considering the bar underneath, maybe it’s a type of leveling system that unlocks new items or customizations.

In typical virtual pet fashion, Wappy owners will be able to pick the room that Wappy should be in. No word yet on how many types of rooms will be available, but based on those arrows, it’ll definitely be more than the living room, garden and bedroom.

The last screenshot we have shows cute accessories that Wappy owners can place on Wappy’s ears. It’s like giving your dog earrings!

We’re so happy at GamingAngels to bring you these customization screens. The customization will allow Wappy owners to make their Wappy unique. Girl Gone Geek and GKick are joining Panels on Pages’ PrincessCast, Game Dames and The Married Gamers as members of the GamingAngels Presents Network, which is currently in its second year. Let’s learn about them!

Girl Gone Geek Blog was created by Jamila Rowser, and it’s been running since May 2010. Jamila started her blog in May 2010 as a way to blend her love for writing and her geeky obsessions — sci-fi, comics, literature, anime, you name it. She enjoys and encourages a collaborative community with her readers and loves having good old-fashioned geekouts with them on her Twitter (@girl_gone_geek) and Facebook pages (www.facebook.com/girlgonegeekblog).

The GKick podcast — hosted by Shal, Hya, Tor and Ali — presents the latest news and discussion topics on World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Old Republic. It’s gone from a guild-only guilty pleasure to a giant show with music features and very (very) mature content. It’s also spawned the GKick Network, which features gaming, entertainment and sports news as well as an assortment of podcasts and humor sites. GKick’s first anniversary is this October. (Ding!) Not-so-live this week, since there’s so much traveling going on in our ranks. Except for me, because I never go anywhere, apparently. Instead of a question, Elizabeth talks GenCon, since she was kind of right there at the time. (On that note, apologies for the somewhat subpar audio quality.) Then it’s on to what we’ve been playing and the news (PS Vita’s 2012 release, new stats on in-game purchasing habits and Diablo III’s real money auctions included). I may or may not still have a Tiny Tower problem that is the subject of much ridicule, most of which is my own.
