The wait is almost over! I was so sad when Project Runway All Stars was delayed. But now the new date is approaching! The show starts Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime. Basically 13 past Project Runway contestants will get a second shot at proving that they are the best. Neiman Marcus is a sponsor for the show and to kick things off, they have a scheduled meet and greet.

Tim Gunn will not be on this show and he explains in an interview on AOL that they were filming Season 9 at the same time as All Stars which was a bit too much for him to handle.

“It may be a failing of mine, but when I’m with something, I’m there 150 percent,” Gunn continued. “I couldn’t possibly have a brain that’s going back and forth between those two workrooms of designers. I was already totally committed to the Season 9 designers, and I couldn’t disappoint them or fail them.

In honest Tim Gunn fashion, he admitted in that interview that there are a few all stars he’s happy he’s not working with again.

Below are the dates and All Stars list:

The designers from Project Runway All Stars will be at five Neiman Marcus stores as follows:

Neiman Marcus Atlanta – Thursday, December 8
Mondo Guerra – Project Runway Season Eight, First Runner-up

Neiman Marcus Paramus – Saturday, December 10
Austin Scarlett – Project Runway Season One, Fourth Place
Elisa Jimenez – Project Runway Season Four, 10th Place

Neiman Marcus Westchester – Saturday, December 10
3:00-4:00 p.m. ET
2 E. Maple Ave, White Plains, NY 10601
Austin Scarlett – Project Runway Season One, Fourth Place
Elisa Jimenez – Project Runway Season Four, 10th Place

I so wish I was in Denver so I could meet Mondo! For me this show is a showdown between Mondo and Austin. It’s going to be AWESOME! Who are you rooting for out of the All Stars?

God I want that PJ set soooo badly. The Battlestar Galactica pajama set is only one of the new items added to the Her Universe store for the holidays. I love that the pjs say good hunting! These new items will premier on HerUniverse.com on Cyber Monday. New items cover Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Warehouse 13 and Eureka.

I mean just cause it’s the holidays doesn’t mean you can’t buy for yourself right? The first 500 orders will received a free limited edition Star Wars holiday pin of Yoda and a signed card from Eckstein. Orders of $40 or more will also get free shipping.

“Available for the first time this holiday season is a new thermal hoodie design with original art by Star Wars artist, Cat Staggs. Also from the beloved Star Wars franchise is a regal sterling silver plated Jedi charm to add to the already popular Star Wars charm bracelet. For Syfy, Eckstein has created several new products for their television shows including a Battlestar Galactica pajama set and a stunning, sterling silver plated Battlestar Galactica necklace featuring Admiral Adama’s senior pilot wings. For followers of Warehouse 13, Eckstein has produced an ultra-soft WH 13 logo burnout tee so you can imagine you’re a Warehouse agent seeking supernatural artifacts while you “snag it, bag it and tag it.” As a fan of the Syfy series, Eureka, Eckstein has created a useful holiday tote bag featuring the cast of Eureka in animated form with exclusive art from the holiday episode of this fan favorite show.”

For those of you that don’t know Etsy is a website that is detected to the buying and selling “handcrafted items, or vintage items, art, and supplies.” There are a number of sellers which run stores filled with their handmade or vintage goods. Here at Gaming Angels, we will be starting a new feature, where we shall bring the best of Etsy to you. It will be items that we have found . Sometimes they will be theme based depending on season, game release, anniversary, item or theme.

For this addition of our Etsy finds, I wanted to embrace a fall theme. Fall is my favourite time of year. It is the time for scarfs, hats, apple cider and the colour of leaves. I have collected a few items off of Etsy that have a beautiful autumn theme.

To begin, it would not be a fall themed article without the appearance of a scarf. I am a scarf addict. The amount of scarfs that I have in my house is obscene. When it comes to scarfs I always suggest something that will spice up your coat. If you have a coat in a neutral colour (Black, Camel, Grey) I would suggest something bright, much like this scarf by Jannygirl. She has a beautiful shop filled with Jersey knit scarfs in bright colours. Some of these scarfs have added decor, but the fall colours that are predominate in her current work is great for a nice fall pick me up. The Autumn Spice Jersey Scarf, is extra long for those of use that love to drape and wrap our scarves. The prices are very comparative, at 22.95 and the items are presented beautifully.

What can be more fall then wearing an actual piece of fall around your neck? Artisan Handcrafted Jewlery has a beautiful selection of jewlery made out of leaves. These leaves are real leaves which have been coated in gold, copper, and silver. I have actually dealt with this seller within the last year. I had bought one of her necklaces for my sister for her birthday. Not only did she say she loved it, she said that it was a really nice gift. So if you are looking for a present for a female who’s is celebrating around the fall season, I would suggest one of these pieces. Now, these are real leaves, so the size might be a bit large on some pieces, say for example a maple leaf.

Sometimes it is important to have a beautiful set of stationary. I do understand that many people longer use snail mail to receive notes, but there is something about having beautiful stationary for when you do need it. This set of 8 note cards and envelops are perfect for sending a short fall greeting, or even for sending out invitations to your Halloween party. Also, the price of $3.15 for this set of stationary is just right, and oh so classy.

Finally, if you want to spice up your home with the love of fall, then may I suggest you start small? Normally, when people begin to decorate for the season, they like to “go big or go home.” with huge wreaths, or decor. Why not start with something for one room to add a little bit of the season? For example, a set of autumn coaster to add to your coffee table. ArtisEverything sells a number of cute coaster to decorate you coffee table. For fall they have a cute leaf pattern set that is quite affordable.

That is all for now, but make sure to check back for more of our Etsy finds.

Recently we wrote about at tshirt at JC Penny’s that sent the wrong message to young girls. So many of us wrote about the shirt wondering how JC Penny could approve the shirt and really wondering about the company that made the shirt in the first place. The JC Penny shirt is not the first with this type of messaging. We found out that Forever 21 also had a similar shirt. Now someone has decided to create shirts that have the right message on them and we know her very well….

@trixie360 whom we know and love is teaming up with Shelly Armstrong to launch @AntiPinkTs. The goal of Anti Pink T’s is to create a line of clothing with a positive message. A message that girls can be proud to wear and moms should want to buy.

I have never let people like that hold me back – but times are changing and while many advances have been made I am still occasionally floored by what happens out there in the world – growing up a girl is getting harder and harder. I am so happy I have boys, so I don’t have to worry about all the awesome being sucked out of a daughter by the time she is 10 years old. Between push up bikinis for 7 year olds and completely inane T-shirts like the “I’m too pretty for homework” travesty – I can’t imagine raising daughters today.

They are still in the beginning stages, so no launch date or examples yet, but if you like their Facebook page you’ll be the first to know!

Fashionistas everywhere woke up early to hit the Target website today. The Missoni collection officially went on sale today and promptly crashed the site. Unfortunately those going to brick and mortar stores may not fair any better. There are reports of people online since 2am and just filling their cart with as much merchandise as they can. Probably not in the manner of keeping, but for re-selling at a marked up price on Ebay.

The collection that includes everything from signature zig-zag print sweaters for $44.99 and silk scarves for $19.99 to iPad covers and furniture.

This photo makes me sad. As someone that wanted to purchase a pair of shoes and a dress, this is just disgusting to witness: Target Missoni picture.

Target’s press release stated that the sale will go through October. But will that mean they will refill what’s been sold? Will we get another chance to make a purchase? I can tell you I refuse to purchase it on ebay.

Are you headed to your local Target today to make a purchase? Follow @Target for any updates.

I sat down for lunch and saw a tweet from Sarah Kimmel about a tshirt that has a message. Unfortunately, given the world we are in right now, this message is about the worst thing you can have on a shirt.

“I’m too pretty to do Homework so my brother has to do it for me”.

The back to school shirt (wow the irony) is listed for Girls 7-16. The text is in varying colors, scripts all in an effort to look “girly”. The accompanying text states that the shirt’s wearer is too cute and should be listening to new Justin Bieber albums. *breathe*

The official update is that the shirt has been pulled from online. No word on if it is being sold in stores and of course, no official statement. I think it would be best for JC Penney to officially apologize and create a scholarship to help encourage the appropriate message, the girls should do homework and aim to go to college.

On one side, it’s just one shirt. Someone tweeted that maybe it’s just one of those ironic funny shirts. Only the message it sends is too damaging to be even a little bit funny.

This makes me mad on quite a few levels. First, the message it sends to girls from moms that buy it and to girls that see someone wearing it. If my mom ever bought something like that for me (she wouldn’t), I’d take it personally. That maybe my mom thinks I should be working harder on being pretty and less on school. That maybe my looks are all that matters. Some moms already do enough damage in this area (watch Toddler’s & Tiaras). But what about the message to her friends? Do they assume that she’s the pretty one and are they less pretty? Do they side with her because it’s cool, and refuse to do their homework too to fit in?

Next, as a female that has worked her whole life in a male dominated career, Information Technology, sending the message that men are more apt at doing homework is infuriating. Very often in my career, I have been faced with sexism. People felt I got my position because I wore a skirt. Others doubted my ability, until I finished the job for them. I had one boss assume I was only working until I could find a husband and get pregnant. Why would I ever want a career of my own right? These sexist ideas are still out there and very prevalent in technology careers. We don’t need sexist messages on our clothing to condone and continue these ideas. We should be working hard to encourage young females (like through our work with DigiGirlz) to embrace technology. To learn, to strive, to innovate.

Yes, it’s just a shirt. Yes, it’s a bad call on JC Penney’s part. But it is more than that. The people that made this shirt, bought the shirt to re-sell, and marketed this shirt are all supposed to be in touch with their audience. They are supposed to know the teen girl market inside and out. If they knew their audience, they would also know that right now there is a epidemic of young girls trying hard to not seem smart. They are flunking on purpose. To them being smart isn’t cool. It won’t get them on a reality show like getting pregnant will. So in a time where this is going on and less and less young girls are going into technology careers, is this really the responsible thing for JC Penney to be putting out there? I think there are better ways to earn $9.99. To the moms out there? There comes a time where you have to speak with your money. If you refuse to buy items that are not conducive to your daughter’s growth as a person, than maybe companies will stop making them.

I know GamingAngels readers are always looking for unique and fashionable ways to wear our favorite hobby, gaming. Etsy is usually a great place to look because one finds the most creative items on there and usually at a great place. This week we found, Land of Rapture where gaming and fashion meet.

“Geeky, curious, odd and whimsical jewellery from deep down in the nuclear bunker of one English womans mind. From a love of whimsical brass to a love of video games, it’s all here.”

The necklaces are awesome (including the Portal necklace), but I love her Plasmid Brass Hairclips. Her prices are very reasonable from $12 to around $20. She doesn’t only have gaming jewelry, I saw various crests from Hogwarts.

The store is full of awesome and I am probably going to order the pixel bow for myself!

Right after Blog Her, I get a press release about the cutest new line of baby clothes. Rovio has teamed up with SwaddleDesigns to release line of baby clothes themed with the characters from Angry Birds. This makes sense because in the game, the birds are protecting their eggs against the pigs.

Another reason this makes sense is because Angry Birds is so popular with any demographic. The products are currently available for pre-order now, but won’t be delivered until October 10. For orders $50 or more, SwaddleDesigns will include an Angry Birds plushie!!

“As parents, one aspect of Angry Birds we appreciate is how protective the birds are and how much they love their offspring,” said Lynette Damir, RN, CEO and creative director of SwaddleDesigns. “It’s one of the characters’ endearing qualities that resonates with parents everywhere, and a key reason we believe Angry Birds fans will be enthusiastic about our new line of Angry Bird baby products. We’re excited and honored to be Rovio’s partner to bring these fun, playful and loveable characters to SwaddleDesigns product line.”

What are the current items that are on sale? Ultimate Receiving Blanket®, Marquisette Swaddling Blanket®, zzZipMe Sack® wearable blanket, Baby Lovie® security blankie and Baby Burpies to name a few. New products will be announced in the coming months. It’s amazing how cute these items can look before they totally messy. Now the choice….which bird would you use to protect your baby?

I am perfectly happy to admit that I was, and occasionally still am, a table-top role player. I spent many a pre-teen and teen afternoon and evening in the company of rogues, thieves, wizards, orcs, and elves. My preferred character was a half-elf Witch/Duellist, and we played by the AD&D first gen rules, thank you very much, often supplemented by whatever the Dungeon Master had read in Dragon that month. So when I heard that Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab was putting out a line of perfumes based on classic role playing, I knew I had to get my hands on a set. I wasn’t entirely sure I wanted to smell like damp concrete, leather jackets, old paper and Jolt cola, mind you, but I figured it was well worth a try.

The RPG line consists of three categories — Race, Class, Alignment — with a variety of scents in each category. The idea is to layer the scents three at a time, according to the character you want to play, ie smell like, that day. It’s a fun concept, to be sure, and worth experimenting with if you want to splash out on the entire line of seventeen scents (or your preferred combination of them). But the individual bottles each have their own special appeal, at least to my nose, so that is how I’ve opted to handle my review.

The Races are Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Half Elf, Halfling, and Orc. Of them all, Elf was my pick for most wearable, at least for me. BPAL lists the scent components as Pale golden musk, honeycomb, amber, parma violet, hawthorne bark, aspen leaf, forest lily, life everlasting, white moss, and a hint of wild berry. To the nose, it was green and fresh and floral, with a sharp touch of astringency that reminded me of wild berry leaves, if not the berries themselves. It dried down with fruitier notes, like a lovely springtime scent.

Halfling is the pick if you’re a foodie scent lover. The notes are porridge, kukui nuts, and pastry crumbs; I wanted to eat the bottle. On my skin, it was a bakery and oddly reminscent of lemon cakes, despite there being no citrus notes in the blend. Put this one on if you’re looking to be, ahem, chewed on.

Dwarf was the sharpest scent, of the Races. The blend consists of iron filings, chips of stone, Styrian Golding hops, and soot-covered leather. On my skin, this made me think immediately of white wine aged in metal barrels, which is interesting considering the hops should have put me in mind of beer. Soot and ashes were more evident on the dry down, but not unpleasantly so; there was a minty note as well. The scent was sharp, as I said, but also stony and penetrating, a real “stare” of a scent. It reminded me of how John Rhys-Davies used to glare when he played Gimli the Dwarf, and therefore this scent gets my vote for most aptly-named of the Race scents.

Half-Elf was my favorite, despite not being my pick for most wearable. It strikes me as the most unisex of the bunch as well; the blend contains white sandalwood, beeswax, white tea leaf, oud, and a hint of sophisticated urban musk. I wear none of these notes, normally; I’ve always been more of a spice and exotics girl. But this blend was just fascinating on my skin; the sandalwood came through right away, and the musky undertones were just enough without being aggressive or too “nighttime” of a scent. I could easily see myself using this every day; it’s light and pleasant, perfect for summer days.
Orc was the most masculine and the most interesting. In the bottle, it smelled like walking into a leather store; the leather note is beyond clear. It’s almost clobbering, which makes sense for an Orcish scent. Other notes are field grey courgette musk and vetiver, but all I got was the leather, so strong it was almost a taste. It relaxed a bit on my skin, with the vetiver coming to the front in an almost watery kind of way, but ultimately I think this is a man’s scent. And frankly, I’d like to meet the man who could carry it off. Not sure I’d like to date him, mind you, but I’d definitely like to meet him,

After Races comes Classes, and there are five in this collection. First up is Cleric, described as peru balsam, cistus, palisander, cananga, hyssop, and narcissus absolute. This is very unisex, I think, sharp and soft in equal measure and therefore wearable for nearly everyone. It didn’t thrill me; it didn’t bother me, much like Clerics when I play. It’s simply a nice scent.

Fighter is next, a strong mix of leather, musk, blood, and steel. This one was not a favorite. I couldn’t get the metal notes at all, which might have helped clean up the melange that I did smell. It wasn’t entirely unpleasant, but it smelled like old leather, the kind that somebody forgot to take care of, which is a poor trait in a fighter. YMMV, of course, and I would like to hear from people this did work on, and why you think it did.**

Mage lived up to its mysterious name; this blend of gurjum balsam, Sumatran dragon’s blood resin, olibanum, galangal, oleo gum resin, and frankincense was tricky and changeable on my skin. It was particularly fun to wear throughout the day — it had decent lasting power — because the notes seemed to flow and blend differently hour after hour. I will reach for this one again, if only to see what it does next. Yes, I know the “smart” rules will tell you that magic is nothing to play with, but I never paid attention to that when I gamed, and it always got me the best loot. At least, once my ears grew back, which was totally worth the +2 rapier, by the way.

Paladin was fresh, clean and slightly reminiscent of lemon Pledge. The notes are described as immaculate white musk, sweet frankincense, bourbon vanilla, white leather, and shining armor. I have no idea where the lemon notes came from, but that’s what popped for my nose in the dry down. The leather was subtle but present; I caught none of the vanilla or frankincense. Much like Paladins themselves, this came off as a very pure scent, and therefore not for me, though I would be interested in trying it as a room spray and wish they’d considered doing it as such.

Ranger is another one I will reach for again, though I am not sure for what occasion. The blend is the most complex of the lot, containing buckskin accord with Terebinth pine, Russian birch, black ironwood, elder bark, hay, armoise, juniper, patchouli, galangal root, Spanish moss, and cabreuva. It was complex on my skin as well, with all the notes combining in a very incensey fashion that was reminiscent of Midnight Mass — the ritual, not the similarly-named seasonal BPAL scent. The juniper gave it a bit of a glaring sharpness on the dry down, but the note faded pretty quickly. I am also happy to say that the patchouli wasn’t very strong; I think the resin and wood notes tamed it. This would be a great scent on a man, I think, but on a woman, it has some mystery. If that’s your thing, like it is mine, this one is worth trying.

Finally, we have Rogue, which I absolutely loved. It can definitely be a man’s scent, but this is a true unisex scent that the right woman could rock, if she was so inclined. The three notes — well-worn black leather, hemp, and rosin — were three I’ve never tried before, but I will be on the lookout for them from now on, since the combination was so nice. There was a scent of fire on the drydown, like fires in autumn when leaves are burning, which combined beautifully with the leather. I’d consider this a nighttime scent, when you’re looking to get a little Rogueish, yourself.

The third category is Alignment; there are five scents. First up, rightfully, is Neutral, a skin musk. And that’s exactly what it was, too. Clean, fresh, and just a little sexy, this is a perfect everyday scent for men or women. I tried it on three people, plus myself — two men and two women. It was just a little different on each of us and really seemed to be the most personal of all the scents. It morphed a lot. Neutral is aptly named and perhaps the most ideal addition to anyone’s scent collection, out of the entire line.

Lawful is a blend of oak, blue chamomile, rhubarb, and fig leaf. I like the cleveresss of having fig leaf in a Lawful scent (think paintings of Adam and Eve), but this was only “meh” on my skin. It smelled generic, which is not an adjective I’d ever use to describe BPAL. This is another scent where I’d love to hear other people’s experiences, because it really did nothing for me.

Chaotic was a lot of fun; it lived up to its name. The combination of musks, wasabi, rooibos, heliotrope, and mastic was a bit of a carnival on my skin, with the peppery notes at the front and the flowery sweetness just hinted at, though they got slightly stronger on they dry down. This is a scent to wear to the circus, or a concert, or when adventuring. On the right person, this could be an incredible everyday scent, and I will definitely be trying it again (and perhaps trying to live up to its perfumed promise). This one is an instigator. If you wear if, be ready for anything.

Good is also aptly named. It’s sweet and reasonably simple, containing “celestial” musk, vanilla, white honey, acacia, and sugar cane. Foodies will probably love it, but on me it was a bit like candy-scented soap. The dry down was certainly nicer, and I think this would be a truly lovely scent for girls just getting into perfumes. But if you tend toward deeper scents and more exotic notes, this one isn’t going to be for you. I did find myself wishing the vanillanote was stronger, in particular; I suspect it would have worked better for me if that had been the top note.

Evil is the final scent, a mix of opium tar, tobacco absolute, green tea, black plum, kush, ambergris accord, ambrette seed, and costus root. This one was also meh and a little soapy on me. I was expecting more spice, more darkness, really, and it disappointed, a bit. Deeper notes came through on the dry down, but they didn’t last very long on my skin. This was actually the fastest to evaporate entirely on me; YMMV and I hope you’ll tell me if they do.

The RPG line is ultimately a lot of fun, and I look forward to playing and layering. I’m glad that I found a few scents in here to wear straight-out, including a couple I will reach for very often. I’d consider this collection to be another BPAL score and a worthy addition to their house of scent.

**I did try layering Fighter with a few things, to see if that helped at all, but it was to no avail. Fighter and I did not get along, which is actually pretty apropos, since plain old fighters were usually my least favorite to campaign with anyway.

“Our partnership will give fans the opportunity to ‘suit up’ for one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, specifically for METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER,” said Careen Yapp, Vice President of Acquisitions and Franchise Development of Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. “The mass success and support for our latest METAL GEAR SOLID hit has allowed us to expand beyond what we’ve done in the past with the series, and we are very much looking forward to offering this new line to a global community of fans.”

The clothing line features hats, pants, sweaters and coats. The entire line is inspired by characters in the game. Although nothing seems to be available for female fans yet. Additional items will be added throughout the year and available at special events.
