Interview: EA Trax Band, “DATAROCK”

“CoD: Modern Warfare 2″ OST now available
Touting seventeen tracks, the official soundtrack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is finally on the market and can be downloaded on iTunes [Warning: opens iTunes] for $.99 a song or $9.99 for the whole album. Written by Lorne Balf and produced by Oscar award-winning composer Hans Zimmer, who also scored the main theme, the music in CoD:MW2 creates a solid base from which the record-breaking game engulfs players into intense and emotional scenarios.

“SOCOM4″ OST to be produced by BSG composer Bear McCreary
His music has already changed the lives of thousands, and now SOCOM4 players will hear exactly why. At just 24 years old, Bear McCreary was brought on to score Battlestar Galactica’s first season and continued to do so throughout the series’ four season run. Now he’s gearing up to produce and record a soundtrack that will accompany players as they stop a militant intent on destroying a key waterway in the single player mode. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve dreamt of a video game score that would feel as if it were being composed specifically for each player, adapting and shifting perfectly to capture the mood of the individual gamer. Thanks to the powerful technology available today, and the talented artists and programmers at Sony and Zipper, I was able to write a score that fulfills this promise.” McCreary wrote on his official blog. ”My approach to SOCOM 4 began

Interview: EA Trax Band, “Pint Shot Riot”
Thanks to EA Trax, we’ve been able to interview three of their bands, all of whom are responsible for some of the music you hear in your favorite Electronic Arts titles. This is the second of those interviews, with the band Pint Shot Riot. Read on to find out where their name comes from, how working with EA has increased their star power (but not necessarily in a Guitar Hero-like way, since that’s another company) and what kind of video game they’d make if they had the chance.
