Angelic Pretty opens their English online shop!
Angelic Pretty is one of the top clothing companies that provide “Sweet Lolita” Style clothing. We haven’t really gone over what Sweet Lolita is here yet, but here’s a crash course from the Angelic Pretty website: Lolita Fashion is a fashion culture that was born in Japan. The characteristic is a princess-like silhouette such as lace, frills, and puffed sleeves. Angelic Pretty sells clothes where the concept is “cute” and “sweet”. Everything is so very cute on the new Angelic Pretty English website. For the first time, people can now order straight from Angelic Pretty instead of going through a service (which is more expensive). AP only takes Paypal right now, and they also have a currency calculator on the site, so you can see how much the clothing will actually cost you. With the dollar being weak, it might actually be more than you want to spend. From experience,

No Country For Old Men
No Country For Old Men isn’t a serial killer chase across Texas as the movie previews would have you believe. It’s really a great tale about the good ole boys of Texas and how they don’t really fit in with today’s world. Of course this movie is set back in a time (you could try to guess) either seventies or early eighties. The movie stars Javier Bardem as a precise, cool-calculated killer for hire on a mission. Though at times the mission seems to take a back seat to his own “moral” code on living/killing. Also starring Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and guest appearance of Woody Harrelson. I have to say that I love Woody however his scene’s in the film weren’t pertinant to the story, a lot of the dialog just seemed like they were stretched for the actors benefit. As if the scene were only one sentence

World’s 50 most powerful blogs
The Guardian UK posted an article yesterday that lists the world’s 50 most powerful blogs. What characterizes a powerful blog? The criteria seems to be hits, but even that is inconsistant. From reading through their top 50 choices, some are obvious and yet other blogs that I would think would make the list are completely vacant. Number one on the list is the Huffington Post, a political blog that started with money and name recognition from Arianna Huffington. The Guardian says like her or not, she gets traffic. Boing Boing makes it at number 2 on the list. Which makes sense. This blog is the new slashdot. Within minutes of posting something new, cool and unique the person’s site goes down. You should definitely read the list to see if some of your favorite blogs made the cut. While Gawker made the list along with their sub-site Jezebel, Kotaku is

Tokidoki for Hello Kitty = too much cuteness!
Okay my Hello Kitty loving heart is so happy to hear about this. Tokidoki, who is much loved for her interesting anime style artwork, is releasing a line of Hello Kitty themed items. Currently the line is only available in Japan but will be coming to Tokidoki.com and www.sanrio.com soon. The line will consist of the necklace in the picture, purses, wallets and even statues. Go here to take a look at some of the items. The best thing about the line, not just that it combines great classic with a new artist, but it’s actually pretty affordable. Unlike the Kimora Lee Simmons or Tarina Tarantino line, the necklace only costs $45. I ordered my necklace today and will take some pictures when it comes in! I can’t wait to see the rest of the line!

Death Note statues from Sideshow Collectibles
Sideshow Collectibles has the best crafted statues. I would be broke if I looked at their site more often. Today I found these amazing statues of L and Light from the manga/anime Death Note. CraftLabel has actually used real fabric for parts of the character. At 12″ high, Light is pretty impressive. He carries both the Death Note an apple which means that the Shinigami is near by. Light is priced at $79.99 and you can view more pictures and pre-order here. L is an interesting character in Death Note. He’s a genius detective that is trying to hunt down the person that is responsible for all the muders. The statue is actually pretty dead on! L is 10″ High and is also priced at $79.99. You can view more pictures and pre-order here. Both statues are a limited edition, which means they could go fast. As usual with SideShow,

NANA Live Action Theatrical Screening
NANA is one of my favorite manga to date. The story is about two young women both with the name NANA, but they couldn’t be more different. They move to Tokyo and end up living together. So imagine my happiness when I received an email from Viz saying that they are having theatrical runs of the live action film based on NANA. That’s right, in the theater! If you live in or near New York or Los Angeles that is. NANA will be screening in Los Angeles March 21-27 at the IMAGINASIAN Center and then it will go to New York April 4-10 at the IMAGINASIAN Theatre. “NANA presents a realistic and sometimes gritty portrayal of two modern women searching for love, careers and a sense of purpose amidst the urban bustle of Tokyo,” says Manami Iboshi, Director, Marketing, VIZ Pictures. “The manga series on which the film is based
