If you haven’t seen this explode on Twitter or Facebook yet, go to Google and type “Do a Barrel Roll”. Google is known for updating it’s logo, but this new trick is actually something pretty cool. Everyone from News organizations to celebs are tweeting about it (some people are a little sick of it already).

The New York Times Bits Blog suggested in a tweet that “Google responds in something of a Siri-like fashion.”

What are the true motivations behind this new web trick? Not sure but in the end, it’s pretty cool trick.

Over the coming weeks, they’ve already got more games they’ll be launching. Individual cartridges will be available for $20. So, if you’re looking to get your hands on a cool copy of God of War to hang on your wall, then you’re going to want to act soon. Below is a picture of the 8 titles that are available later today.

Keep your eyes on http://www.72pins.com/ to grab some of these for yourself. And keep your eyes peeled here on GamingAngels.com for a something special from 72pins.

On GamingAngels we are holding a weekly camera contest to inspire and get us to learn/use our camera. Photography can inspire anyone and right now it is inspiring film director, Ron Howard. Ron has teamed up with Canon to create his next film based on the inspiration from pictures that are sent in to the Project Imagination YouTube channel. The project launched on May 22 but goes through June 14th.

“I’m known as a narrative storyteller, so when Canon approached me to partner on the ‘Long Live Imagination’ campaign, I was moved by the opportunity to collaborate with the masses, tapping into consumers’ creativity and using their photos as building blocks to produce a film,” said Howard. “I hope the project stimulates people’s imaginations whether they are an amateur photographer, a world traveler or a proud parent, and I hope what we create is meaningful.”

You can go to the YouTube channel to submit photos that fall into the following eight categories: Setting, Time, Character, Mood, Relationship, Goal, Obstacle and the Unknown. Throughout the promotion, Ron Howard, with the help of Canon experts and the Project Imagin8ion community, will narrow down the submissions and select one photo per category. Four of the categories will close after June 2nd so you will want to visit the site and send in your picture right away.

It’s a great time to get inspired and be inspiring!

Perky Jerky…two words I would’ve never thought to put together in my life. But, it’s been done. Through a lucky set of coincidences the people over at Perky Jerky have come up with beef and turkey jerky with enough guarana in it to give you a small energy boost; good enough for high activity pursuits, or healthy snack options.

I recently had the chance to sample some of both the beef an turkey flavors and was pleasantly surprised. I’m usually a fan of beef jerky — I think it makes for good snack and good travel food. Perky Jerky is different than your standard convenience station fare however. They’ve done their best to give it good flavor, this is not teriyaki jerky like you’ve had before. It’s all good ingredients, premium meats, lots of flavor and low in both fat and calories.

In terms of flavor, I think the turkey is a little sweeter than it’s beef counterpart — definitely more of the teriyaki taste coming through. And the beef jerky has more of the pepper flavor that regular jerky is often known for. If you’re a fan of jerky for casual snacks, for travel, or actual protein sustenance, you’re not going to go wrong with either flavor from Perky Jerky. As for the energy boost? It’s not going to make a drastic difference in your day but it’s there if you’re looking for it.

But here’s the best part. Perky Jerky was started by two guys that just had a good coincidence when they spilled energy drinks on their beef jerky. Now, Perky Jerky is a burgeoning go-to snack with a good purpose. When you buy from them, they give back to support the fight against both Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Down Syndrome. Mostly, I think if you’re a fan of jerky, you’re going to want to give Perky Jerky a shot. Get on the bandwagon before all the cool kids do. Or, if you’ve not been a fan in the past, now’s the perfect time to give jerky a shot. It’ll be good for those long Portal 2 sessions I know many of us have planned very soon.

If you’re interested, Perky Jerky is available for purchase one bag at a time, or by the dozen over at the Perky Jerky website.

Matt and I have been head down into house hunting. We recently found a place, did the offer/counter offer thing, and are now in the inspection phase. We have so much research work to do on a Sunday, that we decided to use Yummy.com to get our groceries. Lazy? Maybe, but it potentially offers a great convenience. It also allows me to share my experience and have a discussion with you about sites or companies that offer to go food shopping for you.

To be honest, I’m not the best when it comes to food shopping. I hate it. I hate the idea of trying to figure out what I want to eat that week. I feel like we get the same standard things every week in order to play it safe. The problem with that, is I never have the exact ingredients to try something new. This leads us to order in more than we should because we may have a certain craving when chicken for the third day in a row won’t cut it.

First thing I did on Yummy.com was check to make sure they deliver in my zip code. I know they do because I’ve seen the cute little car here. The second thing I notice is free delivery for orders over $100. That’s perfect since we are ordering food for the week.

After creating a log in, it just leaves you with a thank you. No real direction as to where to go next, so I clicked on home. First thing I go to look at is the meats for the week. I spent three minutes trying to order pork chops to realize that I am unable to because it’s slightly grayed out. This is not a good user experience so far. It really should say not available. It’s also difficult to get back. There isn’t a user trail, so instead of going back to meats, I have to go home and start meats all over again. As I go through more sections this starts to annoy me more.

As I add to my cart, it shows me my running total and how much left until I hit the $100 free delivery. I click on one area that doesn’t have anything in it and it’s just blank. Should probably have some messaging stating that nothing in that category is available.

The ordering process was simple. It surprised me that you can input coupon codes. Good to know for next time. After it takes you through the ordering process, it then takes you to a page where it confirms the order. It’s odd because it’s working and changes messaging a couple of times. But there is no indication that the page is doing something other than when the message changes. I think a loading bar or something to show action would be a better experience.

It’s 2:03pm. It took me about 20 minutes to order which is so much less than walking through the grocery store. We’ll see how long the delivery takes. Wow 24 minutes! That’s great. Person just called and is on his way up. We’ll see how many trips he has to do with the groceries. Typically it takes me three. Guy arrives and he has all the groceries. It takes Matt and I minutes to put away.

The website needs work and can have many features improved. Also the selection isn’t varied if you need many choices. For example, I couldn’t get low fat shredded mozzarella. But at least they had shredded mozzarella. Overall the experience with Yummy.com is positive and I would use them again. The time I save has a huge impact and allows us to focus on other things we need to do.

EA is bringing Monopoly to Facebook with Monopoly Millionaires. It’s free-to-play and can be found on Facebook here.

“MONOPOLY has always been a social game that’s made better by the friends you play with,” said Katie Mitic, director of platform and mobile marketing at Facebook. “With MONOPOLY Millionaires, EA and Hasbro are bringing this global game brand to a growing online audience of people who play games with their friends on Facebook. MONOPOLY is a great example of the legacy that can be created when games are built to be social from day one.”

One of the changes made to Monopoly Millionaires is that you don’t have to wait for everyone else to finish their turn first. Players can roll the dice consecutively. This makes the game move smoothly for social gaming play.

LiveJournal is no longer the land of emo-blogging but will now be a place of social gaming as well.

Live Journal is a very popular blogging platform that is already pretty social. Groups like female gaming groups, anime, cosplay and many other interests are huge communities that rival blogs. Now friends can also play multi-player games while they try to sell loli outfits or chat the latest in games.

“Many of our users are gamers, so we’re pleased that our users will now be able to enjoy their favorite social gaming activities without leaving LiveJournal,” said Anjelika Petrochenko, General Manager of LiveJournal, U.S. “This beta version of games is just a starting point for LiveJournal. We look forward to expanding upon this initial offering with a growing suite of social games to suit our users’ eclectic interests. Our users are smart, creative, and passionate, so our emphasis is on delivering unique and engaging games to ensure a delightful user experience.”

The social gaming company bringing the fun to LiveJournal is i-Jet Media. The first few games are in beta and are “Farm Frenzy”, “Hospital”, “City Gangs”, and “Crazy Cars”. They’ll be adding more games in the future.

Facebook and Twitter are great for keeping up to date on friends, and letting friends know what you are up to. Updates allow you to speak your mind. Pictures posted let you share a moment. But that could all work against you if you may have something to hide.

Insurance companies are joining employers, college admission officers, and divorce lawyers that are using social networking sites to do background checks or to find fraud.

The information is free and easily available. The industry says that fraud costs the US as much as $80 billion a year.

They look for pictures that don’t add up to the claim. If one claims they are depressed but the person has pictures of them partying at the beach or constantly hanging out, then a fraud case may be made. Or if someone’s back is hurt and they can’t work, but then tweet about running a marathon…well you know what will happen.

So be careful about what you post on social networks, because there may be more than just your friends listening.
