    Monopoly comes to Facebook

EA is bringing Monopoly to Facebook with Monopoly Millionaires. It’s free-to-play and can be found on Facebook here. “MONOPOLY has always been a social game that’s made better by the friends you play with,” said Katie Mitic, director of platform and mobile marketing at Facebook. “With MONOPOLY Millionaires, EA and Hasbro are bringing this global game brand to a growing online audience of people who play games with their friends on Facebook. MONOPOLY is a great example of the legacy that can be created when games are built to be social from day one.” One of the changes made to Monopoly Millionaires is that you don’t have to wait for everyone else to finish their turn first. Players can roll the dice consecutively. This makes the game move smoothly for social gaming play.

LiveJournal is no longer the land of emo-blogging but will now be a place of social gaming as well. Live Journal is a very popular blogging platform that is already pretty social. Now friends can also play multi-player games while they try to sell loli outfits or chat the latest in games. “Many of our users are gamers, so we’re pleased that our users will now be able to enjoy their favorite social gaming activities without leaving LiveJournal,” said Anjelika Petrochenko, General Manager of LiveJournal, U.S. “This beta version of games is just a starting point for LiveJournal. We look forward to expanding upon this initial offering with a growing suite of social games to suit our users’ eclectic interests. Social networks being used as fraud evidence

Facebook and Twitter are great for keeping up to date on friends, and letting friends know what you are up to. Updates allow you to speak your mind. Pictures posted let you share a moment. But that could all work against you if you may have something to hide. Insurance companies are joining employers, college admission officers, and divorce lawyers that are using social networking sites to do background checks or to find fraud. The information is free and easily available. The industry says that fraud costs the US as much as $80 billion a year. They look for pictures that don’t add up to the claim. If one claims they are depressed but the person has pictures of them partying at the beach or constantly hanging out, then a fraud case may be made. Or if someone’s back is hurt and they can’t work, but then tweet about running

    Social gaming comes to Bing

Now it’s possible to earn achievements while you are searching. Sibblingz is bringing Happy Island to a new platform, Bing. Users searching the internet on Bing will have the chance to play through the first levels of Happy Island without signing in. Later, the player can then associate their Facebook login to earn achievements and extend the game. “Partnering with Microsoft to bring the first social gaming title to Bing opens up some very exciting opportunities for Sibblingz and the social gaming industry,” says Ben Savage, founder of Sibblingz. “With this partnership, we’re really thinking outside the Facebook canvas.” The new Sibblingz platform made it easier to bring the social game to Bing. The development platform helped Crowdstar and Sibblingz bring the game to Bing in a very short time period. “Crowdstar and Sibblingz have shown amazing agility with taking an idea from concept to reality in record time” says

EA releases Pogo leveraging HTML 5

Electronic Arts has newly released it’s titles that are now available in the Google Chrome Web Store. EA showed Poppit recently at a Google Chrome event. Poppit was changed from flash into an HTML5 title for the event. “Poppit! has never run faster and never looked better,” said EA Chief Operating Officer John Schappert. “With Google’s Web Toolkit, we can supercharge classics like Poppit! into state-of-the-art HTML5 games for this new gaming platform.” Poppit! is an addicting game on the Pogo platform. Basically click to pop balloons and release prizes. EA didn’t stay casual though. The Guild returns with Season 4!

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from The Knights of Good, but they’re back with Season 4 and let me just say that it was an interesting start to the season. Season 3 ended with Codex (Felicia Day) waking up next to Fawkes (Wil Wheaton) after apparently going out to celebrate after winning against Axis of Anarchy in a PvP guild brawl. Well Codex being the nice girl decides to be up front with the rest of her guild mates about what happened between her and Fawkes and well… lets just say you’re going to have to watch it to find out more! It’s available for download on XBOX Live or you can view it online here. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season to see what happens!

Getting Back in Touch with the Boys from Blood Gulch

I remember back during my Halo 1 and 2 days (has it really been that long?) when I first heard about the guys at Rooster Teeth and their machinama series “Red vs. Blue.” Now many seasons later, I have the chance to re-connect with my boys in red and blue back in Blood Gulch thanks to a great DVD set from New Video that has the first five seasons all together plus some extras. “You ever wonder why we’re here?” is the first line in the whole series and what has developed from that one simple phrase has been great. It was a blast waiting for new episodes or shorts to be released and then talk about online and with my friends. Not to mention quoting the series in online multiplayer. And it was a blast to go back and watch my favorite PSAs and episodes! Well watching this DVD

Get Zombie Blood without killing Zombies

Zombies are everywhere. Going after plants, going after four strangers, or showing up in our favorite literature. I always thought Zombies didn’t have blood, but harcoslabs.com has harvested Zombie Blood which is actually energy from Zombies for humans. The energy drink will last for four hours. On the livingwithbloodlust.com website, there is a large variety of information from Zombie FAQ to a statement about the Ethical Treatment of Zombies. The company states that they milk the zombies for the pints of blood. Harcos Labs does not give tours anymore, but you can purchase Zombie blood at Hot Topic, FYE, ThinkGeek.com, Fry’s Electronics, Micro Center and Tiger Direct.

Want cute on demand? Check out KittehRoulette

The picture above is from LolCats, and this article is about kittens. Remember the service Chat Roulette? It’s where you can randomly get matched to video chat with random people. Only problem is, one tends to run into male genitalia instead of someone to chat with. Possibly inspired by Chat Roulette, meet the much safer and cuter, Kitteh Roulette. Best used when you need a dose of cute, Kitteh Roulette pulls random YouTube videos that have kittens in them. I played with the service for 20 minutes (yes instead of writing up an interview or playing a game), and have mixed feelings. Some of the videos are cute, but most are only cute for the first 15 seconds. It’s very common that kitten videos seem to go way too long. But nothing prevents the user from moving on to the next video. I did get the same video twice which

    There Will Be Partying!

“There Will Be Brawl” fans in Los Angeles are in for a treat – there is going to be a wrap party, and you’re invited! If you don’t know about the web series, let me clue you in. The series is a dark parody of the Smash Bros. games, and you get to see Mario and friends come to life to once again. The premise of the series has Mario, Luigi and Peach trying to protect the Mushroom Kingdom (as always) and solve some grisly crimes that have taken place. I have to warn you that the series is definitely NSFW, and is also not intended for anyone under the age of 17. As I said earlier, the TWBB people will be holding a wrap party to commemorate the end of the series, and to thank their cast and crew, but they also want their fans to join in on
