I'm thinking about running a campaign of hard sci-fi (think Asimov tending towards Firefly instead of Dragonriders of Pern), and I've got a couple of options for systems:

-D20 system (which is basically D&D 3e)

-GURPS

-Traveller – not 1st ed., because apparently that one involves calculus or something, with which I am not down.

-I will not be using Firefly, because that's crap.

Any input will be quite welcome. I don't know much about the GURPS system. What I'll probably do is pick one of these, probably not D20, and if the system kinda sucks, I'll switch it to PDQ.
