EA Sports Active is in all retail stores starting today for the Nintendo Wii. The fitness game is created by EA with the help of Oprah's trainer, Bob Greene. The game itself has extra pieces included such as a leg strap and a rubber band. Both are used to enhance the workout.

At a recent EA event, I was able to try EA Sports Active. First we walked through the customization screens and the daily journal. The game has an expansive diary system for you to enter your …

Earlier today I wrote about EA Sports Active and my preview with the game. If you are getting EA Sports Active, let me know here. Let's do the 30 day Challenge together! I think it starts on June 1. We can write about our exercises and daily experience here. Let's push ourselves to get fit and have fun!

I really want to get this, but I don't know if I'll actually be able to get it until after E3 – which would mean starting the challenge a week into June…we'll see.

I'd love to join the challenge with the rest of you! I'm getting EA Sports Active this weekend. I was also surprised by how the campaign didn't make me want to tear my hair out. (e.g. – The site and the celeb endorsements focus on fitness and health rather than just losing weight). However, you'll notice that men are left out of the equation. I'm sure a ton of guys would like to get in shape too. A guy may feel weird picking up the title at GameStop.

I'd love to get this but if it does't support a pregnancy mode, I'll have to bow out for now. I really like that EA is doing such a positive  campaign! Its nice to see something that focuses on promoting a healthy female image!

I agree MsPixel that guys can definitely benefit from EA Sports Active just as much as women.

We'll start our challenge on June 1st. If you participate, at the end of the 30 days, everyone that participates (writes on the forum how they are doing) will get a prize. ^_^

It comes out tomorrow here in NZ, at the moment I do training using a website (hyperstrike.co.nz) but it certainly sounds interesting.

I avoided Wii fit because it cost so much money here and I didn't think I would really stick with it because I enjoy more of the high intensity workouts. It sounds like this might be up my alley so I'll try to grab it to participate in the 30 day workout with you, we'll see if it's just as good for a guy :)

Ok, so here is what I'm thinking: Since there will be a few people "unavailable" due to E3 commitments why don't we pick a day the week after for everyone to start the 30 day challenge?

That will allow any more interested parties to sign their interest, and acquire the "game". I'm up for creating a support group where we encourage each other and let each other know how we're doing etc. as well.

How does that sound?Smile

I picked this up earlier this week and just did my first workout today.  Holy crap..it kicked my butt! LOL!  I'm planning on doing my 30 day workout starting the Monday after E3….so I'll be a week behind.  In the meantime, I want to try to do a daily workout.  I do love the Yoga in Wii Fit, so I would LOVE to see EA move on to a yoga workout.  (Been out of the loop a bit, so if there already is one in the works…cool! LOL).

I think the only complaint that I have with it though is that is doesn't have a scale like Wii Fit does, to accurately (or at least consistancy) track your weight.  (Maybe I missed this on the disc?)  Apart from that, so far, it's shaping up to be a pretty decent workout.

I game…therefore I am.

Well, guess who just got her copy in the mail? :D I got a pedometer with it too as a bonus gift! *in a Cartman from South Park voice* It's so tiny!

Again I say let's all band together and do the 30 Day Challenge and support one another through it! A discussion of the Angels may be needed methinks!

I just got mine today too! I'm going to do a run through today or tomorrow I think, but I will have to start the 30 day challenge late cause of E3.

edit: I just did one of the cardio workouts- 25 minutes and 133 calories burned. I just wanted to do a quick workout inbetween laundry and man it was tough! I ended up so sweaty I had to jump in the shower! lol

Ok, so now E3 is over, who's in for a group 30 day challenge?

I think it would be good if we have a group to share our experiences, and encourage each other through the 30 days! It's much easier to complete something like this when you have friends to bounce off if you need them!

Let me know and I'll see what I can do! And any suggestions for whow to run this or what you would like to see would be appreciated too! Laugh

Anyone else start their 30 day challenge? What do you think of the exercises? So far I've hit myself in the face a couple times trying to do upright rows.  I also don't like the inline skating exercise, but that's because I have bad ankles and it doesn't seem to be detecting when I jump.

What are your favorite exercises so far?

I'm a bad girl actually… I haven't touched mine since the 2nd workout… EVER… lol… Embarassed

And I haven't started the challenge yet but thanks for warning us about upright rows, although I haven't had that problem when I did them. I may just have to start mine now!
