It's almost time for my birthday next week and I think I need to try harder for changing my life around and getting healthier. I was thinking of getting a Wii Fit to get more motivation and I'm thinking there would be a lot more things to do and more fun then "Yourself Fitness" the Wii version which I think it's called "My Fitness Coach" or something. I forgot. I'm also worried I might break the board somehow even though it says it can stand up to 330 lbs. (I'm 295 lbs.). I just need some opinions and testimonies of other people who have had either a bad/good experience with Wii Fit. I just don't want to spend $100 bucks on something that isn't going to work or I can't use quite yet.

I don't know about the weight limit, although I think if it is near the limit it tells you.

If you are looking for something to motivate and maybe ease you into working out, I think both Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus and EA Sports Active are good ways to do it. I think there are also enough other workout games like Jillian Michaels and Daisy Fuentes to allow some variation.

I only have two complaints about Wii fitness games. One I get bored easily. Second, I don't know if they offer enough of a cardio booster to really help.  I would go take a cardio class at the gym and be completely worn out. Sometimes it might be better to incorporate walking or going to a gym as well.

I hope that helps!

I absolutely love my Wii Fit. I just recently bought the Wii Fit Plus which I think improved really well on the original and if you do decide on purchasing it I'd see if you could get the balance board bundled with the new Wii Fit Plus. I'm not sure if that bundle's out yet.

The weight limit on it is 330 lbs like you had mentioned and the design of the board in my opinion is very sturdy. I'm 165 lbs myself so I haven't tested the weight limit but in my experience Nintendo's very good in making their products reliable and durable so I think it should be fine but totally up to you.

I find if I vary my work out between the strength exercises and the aerobic exercises I get a really good work out. I haven't had any problems with the game, no freezes or disc errors or anything like that. I've also found the game to be very rewarding. It tracks your workouts like a standard game would track high scores which I've found really helps me push myself to get better and more fit so I can beat my own high score.

I would definitely recommend either the Wii Fit or the Wii Fit Plus.

Hope this is helpful for you

Thank you guys for your input! It's greatly appreciated! I think I'll wait for summer to actually get one, but I will eventually get one.

My husband just got me Wii Fit for Christmas, and I'm looking forward to getting into playing it.

Saiyu – here's a hint, but you might want to wait until a giveaway we have on GA first. ^_^  It's only going to be open to GA memebers.
