I remember last year this awesome idea and I'm still behind you 100% Saiyu!! I don't think I'll be able to do DDR since I only have an xbox 360 and no funds to get new games/equipment, but I'm gonna use marching band and biking as my method since that's my big two things that I do a lot. My goal is 25 pounds by my birthday then (April 8), so I won't be that far behind you.

Best of luck to everyone!

I'd like to get in on this. I'll be doing a combination of EA Active and pilates. My goal is 10lbs a month, so you can say 40lbs by the end of April. =)

Sadly I've put on a few pounds over the last year that have come from stress, inactivity, etc. The added weight is putting more stress on my already bad ankles (from years of working long retail hours & then my car accident). I've been trying to eat healither, making more meals at home and playing around with portion sizes to help curb my bad appetite. This challenge is a great idea.

As soon as my kids return to school  I am going to kick off with a 2-week super strict diet. Its what my fav radio show host Jason Ellis uses when he kicks off training for a new MMA match. He and his wife are very fit and healthy. He gives steps to keep your weight and diet healthy after the 2-week start on is website.

All protein can be paired with eating fresh celery, tomato, peppers, and/or onion. beverages are limited to water and black coffee

breakfast – 3 egg whites or a bowl of plain oatmeal

snakc- 1/2 apple

lunch – 1 can of tuna

snack 1/2 apple

dinner – grilled chicken breast

It sounds harsh but these are foods I love to eat anyways. Limiting my portions will be difficult and going 2 weeks without breads and pastas will be the most difficult. But this diet gives your body only what it needs and nothing else. You will lose 20-30 lbs if you behave ;)

Afterwards my husband and I have taken a few ideas to follow up with. Like, you should only eat whole wheat pastas and breads, NO POP, NO FAST FOOD, your protein intake should be about the size of your hand matched with twice as many HEALTHY carbs, square meals ( a meat a starch and a veggie ) and since quick and easy has been a habit of ours, we will make several healthy meals on the weekend and freeze them for on the go moments during the week. And we are going to take the weekends off to indulge lol

As far as exercise I dont have a Wii or DDR, so not sure I count in the competition aspect. But I am going to use my Netflix instants to workout in several different ways. My fav would have to be yoga. I do it in that one hour I have when my husband has left for work and the kids are not home yet. Its perfet for destressing and getting my body ready for something more vigorous in the months to come.

My goal is 50 lbs.

edit- reasons to lose weight. I am a tall big boned girl to begin with. at my lowest weight and lookin like I was starving I was 170 lbs. I am now almost 250lbs and still carrying baby weight from my 9 year old daughter lol So I have just fallen into the lull of life and stopped caring much about my appearence. this past year my husband and I have agreed that 30 isnt that old and theres no reason to feel 40!! Time to get sexy!!

P.S. along with the weight loss I have promised not to cut more than an inch at a time off my hair til next school year begins. I think I may even throw in NO HAIR DYE (OMG).

Another thought…. Why don't we move this to The Lounge forum and call it a 90 Challenge? A lot of people might miss it because it is called DDR. Just an idea. Let me know. =)

Great idea! There should be a seperate forum for challenges like these so they don't get missed. We want our Angels to be healthy angels too while being video game couch potatoes, right? lolz

I'm going to try and lose weight using DDR because I want to prove to some people you can lose weight by either totally using DDR or mostly using it. Also, by people I mean some of my friends that I know and one person in particular because I know she thinks it's impossible. I am also proving that video games aren't totally useless and a waste of time…lolz

I was thinking about last year how no one had DDR but most people had Wii Fit or something and since this is Gaming Angels I wanted it to have something to do with a video game theme, but as long as we are doing this together as a group of video game Angels then it really doesn't matter what we use. As long as it's a group and together. I think for next year I'll just start asking questions of what everyone is doing and what means they have to exercise. Most of the people (so far as I can tell) need to lose 30 lbs (or more) so if you achieve your goal you guys win an achievement which I will use my artist skills and make up for the deadline. If you've met your goal of the challenge or your personal goal in case people want to join but have less then thirty pounds to lose then they win an achievment too. How does that sound?

I'm a great motivator so lets get ready for battle Angels! I'll be leading the charge! It's the battle of the bulge and time to kick some cellulite cells to the curb!

Went ahead and renamed and moved this post to the Lounge.  :)

But by doing so managed to split the first post from Saiyu and everyone else.  So, please go over and reply to the new/old one in the Lounge, and I'll close this one down.
