Just wondering because I forgot… who do I ask if I wanted to do a FFXIII review for the PS3 version? I really want to do this review.

Thanks in advance!  Laugh

Saiyu, you can find the submissions process here: http://www.gamingangels.com/submissions/

I'm not sure if any of the staff have already "laid claim" to the PS3 version of the game, so asking Cherith is your best bet. She's the editor in chief and keeps track of those things. =)

Saiyu, I'm so excited for FF13. I think almost all of the staff are ordering this game. haha  Maybe we'll have a discussion thread about our thoughts on FF13 as we all go through it.

I actually got my copy for the PS3 on Thursday, and have started it. :O It's great. It's definitely a further step away from traditional Final Fantasy games. It starts off with REALLY linear areas and you can't explore much, but from what I hear the world will get more expansive the further you advance in the story, thankfully.

The combat is actually pretty difficult so far too, but fun.  If you don't set up Paradigms and shift them effectively, you'll be seeing the Game Over screen a lot, haha. XD You also don't level up in this game, it has a Crystarium system very similar to FF10's Sphere Grid, and the Paradigms are similar to setting up Gambits in FF12.

Uh, I hope I don't regret purchasing said FFXIII game, but I should be able to learn the battle system even if it might take me ahwile. I'm going to stay optimistic about the game until I can finally play it after work. Basically I went for the midnight release at my local Game Stop just to drive home and go to bed because I get up five in the morning for work. I REALLY hated FF12 though. I'm trying to remember what those gambits were, but it's a bit hazy.

Also just by looking at the game and some previews it looks and sounds like FF7 and FF10 mooshed together with tiny elements of FF8 and FF9. But, that's my opinion. Cool

The Gambits were basically if/then scenarios that you set up for each character, remember? If health falls below 20%, cast cure. That kind of thing.

It's starting to come back to me. I'm sure I'll eventually fully remember. I only played 4 or 6 hours into it before quitting being very bored and frustrated with the game.
