This definitely helps a couple of us that are trying to lose weight to look good in wedding gowns! What date is our first offical weigh in?

Oh and we should collect the data each week and make a chart and post it here in the forum. I found this: http://www.onlinecharttool.com/

any ideas?

As the keeper of the GA Prize Closet, I'm willing to chip in on the prize front for those that stick with this.  :)

Also, I'd suggest maybe a poll every Saturday morning where  people can check-in with their loss/current weight.  Or maybe just a weekly weigh-in post.

Also, for anyone looking for a little strength training on top of the cardio from DDR or Wii Fit/EA Active – I highly recommend the 100 push-ups/200 sit-ups/200 squats program – you can find them all here: http://www.hundredpushups.com.  They're a really great challenge, and you can do one or all of the programs, and they do work to increase your strength in 6 weeks – although in my experience, it can take a little longer than 6 weeks to get to the goal if you don't keep with it regularly.

@Cherith ooh, that's cool! i think i remember you saying something about that on twitter or livejournal or something. i'd try it but i can already do 100 pushups. dad was in the military; he made me do pushups as punishment for the 12-13 years he was with us.

@Trina I think we were going to check in on Jan 2, after the holidays and celebrations.

I'm actually excited! My mom agreed to diet with me. She found this 'eating right for your blood type' book, and since we share the same blood type, we're gonna try it out. Man, I'm gonna miss my bucket of chocolates that i refil every month. o_O''

I don't think I've ever been this excited to start a challenge….especially a workout routine LOL.  I'd love to do the pushups/situps/squats thing but I'm going to have to wait on the pushups part.  I was just diagnosed with a nerve problem in my right arm (yup I'm right handed LOL), so until that heals I can't really use the arm.  I've got an appointment next week with a hand specialist to figure out where we go from here.  That however will not impact my doing this challenge.  I've decided that I'll just have to adjust to avoid impact with my arm until it gets taken care of.  I've used too many excuses in the past to push off a program like this.  Sorry if I ramble a lot.  I believe the things I'm telling myself about my decision to commit to this if I see it in writing :)

Congratulations to you ladies that have quit smoking and/or trying to quit. I finally gave up cigarettes about 10 weeks ago after about 8 years of smoking. To stick with it before you know it those cancer sticks will be a vague memory.

I am totally up for this challenge I was actually going to do this before I even read about it. But mine is a little bit different. I will be using my Wii majority of the time to workiout. I will be trying the Wii Fit, EA Active, (the name escapes me) the one with the camera and any other Wii fitness games. I started up a youtube account to document my weight loss and to share/review my opinions of how each Wii game worked out for me.

So if I can join up with you ladies I will have that extra push to keep me on track. Surprised

Although April sounds really close aleady I will try my best. My end goal is losing 30lbs by the end of the year. I really want to get rid of my pregnancy weight, my son is now 6 years old and I've only been putting on weight.

Here's to a good start on the new year!Laugh

Hey guys, I got epic news! Both my mom and my aunt are joining me/us in this adventure! We're calling it our "20 by my 20th birthday" project, since that's what I was calling it to explain it to them simply. I don't think they'll be up for weighing in with us, but hey! It's good to have the support at home. Mom and I are gonna watch our caffiene intake; she bought 'my weight loss coach' the other day, too. They're already mourning their Starbucks and Pepsis though…

I'll be doing this with y'all. I've already been working on the losing weight thing, so the easy pounds off the top are already gone.  I'll be doing DDR, because it's what I have.  I don't have a scale at all though, I usually check when I go to my grandmother's, about every week, on Sundays. I'll do my best to keep up with it.

My starting weight is 215 lbs.  (I was 248 just a few months ago. This is totally doable.) My overall weightloss goal is to hit 170lbs, Which is another 45.  This is going to be a lot of fun, with all these Angels working at it too.

GamingAngel said:FolensWife, you're going to give up soda completely? I wish I could. lol But it's GREAT that you are giving up smoking!

Three years ago I decided to stop drinking soda for a full year, and I pulled it off. And I used to drink a lot of soda, which is why I gained so much weight. Since then, I've only had a few sips of soda and that stuff wakes me up like never before! Since then, I've lost about 55 pounds, so taking soda out of your diet will be a huge plus. Best thing to do is not think about it and don't allow it in your home. I stick with heaps of water, as well as orange juice, Sunny D, grapefruit juice and lemonade.

I'm going to be using Wii Fit to monitor my weight, as I've done in the past, btu I just don't enjoy working out to it.

Since this is the first of the month, might as well weigh myself (something I haven't done for a few weeks now).

Current weight: 163 with a BMI of 24.10

(BTW, ITG stands for In the Groove.)

Do you use an actual scale for your weigh in tomorrow? Or should I just use Wii Fit?

I'm using a scale, but I think using the Fit as a scale is fine as long as its accurate.

Yukino weighing in! After being bad yesterday and eating 4 cupcakes, I check in this morning at 245.

I started with a low impact workout on EA Active. I had to turn off the running and inline skating exercises because my ankles can't handle them right now. My hope is that my ankles will feel better after a month or so and that I can incorporate those exercises back in. My goal is to also attempt Tai Chi or pilates for 20 minutes later today to add to my EA Active routine.

I'm in! I like using The Daily Plate to monitor my weight and caloric intake. It has some nifty charting built into it.  My goals are to knock out these last 15lbs…. the last ones are always the hardest IMO. Yell

Tira here, checking in.

Weight: 165 lbs.

I'm starting with walking and then DDR/ITG.  I can't wait to try the songs from my flash drive again. (Songs are downloaded for Stepmania, but itg 2 can play sm files with the r21 patch.)

Later on this month, I plan to take a self-defense or dance class when I start my school semester to vary my options.

Woo! I weighed in this morning, actually ate breakfast and healthy all day (except for some really tasty chocolate coins Yukino's scolding me for..), and walked a bit. I'm starting at 208 lbs.

My boyfriend's being great. He walked with me, and he's been dealing with me searching through his house trying to find pasta and stuff. :3

Weight: 210 lbs

In the process of moving currently so my first month will be slow but I am watching what I eat. Once I move I will be able to whip out the ITG and various DDRs, I have plenty. I'll probably supplement with strength, yoga, pilates and elliptical trainer once I get on my feet.
