AUGH Why does SDCC hotel registration get worse every year?

OMG ! I just glanced at SDCC website because hotels go up for registration. Every year for the last five years the reservation system has gotten worse and worse. They start their latest information that they worked hard all year on a better system. Well I don't believe it. Now the system goes live, then you have to enter 12!!! choices and in 3-5 hours, they will email you with what you ended up with. WTF? I don't have 12 choices and to me this seems so arrbritary. Now there is no order at all. I'm so upset with this. Plus you don't know what hotel you are actually getting (because they choose it for you) and you have to pay for one night right away.

Personally I thought that the one night pay would help reduce the people reserving. But this new system means whenever they "get" to your email you might get a hotel choice. AUGH

I'm so upset because every year my SDCC experience is worse and worse.

Today I was ready to write off SDCC altogether. A friend went and got a hotel outside of the travel planners service and while more expensive, at least it's a place to stay on the shuttle route. man what a horrible system.

That's just crazy. How many people are really going to look up and know 12 hotels they want to stay at?! Can you find your own hotel and book a room that way, or do you have to go through SDCC for a room during the con? Gluh, it makes me glad that I always communte to conventions and never have to fuss with a hotel room.
