    We’ve written about our addiction to Candy Crush Saga. It’s such a great game especially for those of us that only have minutes between naps or feedings to play. Now you can show your love for Candy Crush Saga on your feet! King has teamed up with Happy Socks to create two styles of socks based on the popular game, Candy Crush Saga. WarpZone can make any geeky cookie you want

    This may be one of the coolest Etsy stores I have found. WarpZone makes cookie cutters that cover a wide variety of geeky interests. Athey Moravetz, the owner, teamed up with her husband to purchase a 3D printer. They are both 3D artists and worked to create things to sell on Etsy. Athey is doing what many of us needed to do in the last few years. Brainstorm about a way to make money after being laid off. They started on Etsy and now are extremely successful making everything from cookie cutters to coasters or a Hyrule Shield. How great are these for parties? From My Little Pony to Dr. Who and Game of Thrones, she really has all geeky interests covered. Follow @WarpZonePrints to find out when new designs are added. I love when people take their talents and mash them with geeky hobbies to make something we can

    Destiny made me feel inspired by games again at E3 2013

    This year at E3 I didn’t make any appointments. With the baby, I had no idea what days I would be attending or for how long. To be honest, in the past few years I have not been thrilled with the gaming industry. E3 seemed to be a place for regurgitation. Same IPs with new numbers on the end. I was bored. This year I knew would be a little different just because of the new consoles, but what I didn’t know is that one game would make me believe in the industry again. I didn’t have an appointment at Activision. I saw people heading into the Destiny room for a demo and I asked if there was room for one more. Luckily, they let me in. I sat next to a guy from Bungie while part of the team sat in front of us preparing for the demo. The

    E3 2013 in pictures

    E3 2013 kicked off this week and it’s been a great event! Two of the three Goliaths launched brand new consoles and Nintendo is busy showcasing their powerful IP. At GamingAngels, we’ve been attending E3 from when it was a massive event to when it was just in hotels in Santa Monica. I love the larger event. There is something about walking through those convention hall doors and hearing the soundtracks, seeing the lights, and well…smelling the gamers. ^_^ Below are pictures from one day at E3 2013. I hope you enjoy! Follow

    Sony announces PS4 for $399 this holiday

    Sony closed out the first day of E3 with their Press conference discussing the Playstation 4. There were many great moments of the conference, but the things that seem to get the most cheers were the fact that they specifically had a slide explaining that people can play used games on the PS4 and that the PS4 will be $399. I love this video that was just released: I do love the time they spent promoting the indie game companies that will be releasing titles for the PS4. “We are proud to unveil today the most advanced gaming system ever created, PlayStation 4, which demonstrates everything PlayStation stands for — a relentless focus on the gamer, an inspired community of developers equipped with the most powerful technology, and the long-standing legacy to building worlds without boundaries through one-of-a-kind gaming experiences,” said Jack Tretton, President and CEO of SCEA. “What’s equally

    The Art of the Last of Us from Dark Horse

    It’s E3 this week which means more information about the latest games and consoles that the game industry has to offer. To me, it’s also a celebration for new ideas that challenge our current video game offerings. One of my favorite areas of E3 is the art pavilion. Coming from someone that can barely draw a stick figure, it’s amazing what artists in the industry can come up with. Art that inspires characters, feelings and ultimately the game. Naughty Dog Studios has teamed up with Dark Horse to show the art behind their E3 2012 hit, The Last of Us. A title that is out this Frida, 6/14! In the art book, you can see the steps the team took to finding the perfect look for this father-daughter relationship. It’s incredibly interesting to visually see the ideas that led to the final product. At 177 pages, the full-color artbook provides

    See real Gorillas to celebrate the launch of Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

    Memorial Day Weekend is a great opportunity to get out and get some fresh air. Courtesy of Nintendo, you can get fresh air and brand new gaming experience in one place! Fun for the whole family! Nintendo is taking over the Los Angeles Zoo to celebrate the launch of Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D at the Campo Gorilla Reserve. They have a station with a ton of Nintendo 3DS and copies of Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. The Donkey Kong Interactive Experience involves the zoo’s family of lowland gorillas. At around 12:30pm, the gorillas receive cardboard barrels that are filled with treats. Fun! The experience is at the LA Zoo (5333 Zoo Drive) May 24-27th from 10am – 5pm. I took Pumpkin and she had a GREAT time. I loved it. This was my first trip to the LA Zoo and they are incredibly baby friendly! I can’t wait to

    Dragon’s Crown: Two Big Bouncing Problems for Gaming?

    About a month ago, Atlus confirmed the localization of Vanillaware’s Dragons’ Crown for North America. Many gamers like myself, who loved Odin Sphere for the Playstation 2, and Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Wii were absolutely thrilled. Vanillaware’s character designer, George Kamitani has always had a very distinct style, which I have personally loved since as far back as Princess Crown for the Sega Saturn. Dragon’s Crown most noticeably features an evolution of his usual art style; The characters are more dramatically proportioned, with ridiculously mythologized body types. Rather than the daintier frames of Gwendolyn and Oswald, we now have the obscenely muscled Dwarf, and the notoriously buxomed Sorceress. And this has caused quite a bit of controversy amongst gamers with very vocal opinions. It all started with Kotaku’s Jason Schrierer stating Kamitani’s work embodied the “drawings of a fourteen-year-old-boy.” Kamitani fired back on his Facebook, with this image;
