Possible new iPod line announced next week

Apple has sent out invitations for a conference next week, September 5th, but no specifics were given. Which starts the bloggers and journalists talking. Many speculate that Apple is going to announce a new line of iPods that have a touch screen much like the iPhone. Others believe that the announcement could be that Apple has finally made a deal to put Beatles music on iTunes. Stock Analysts are weighing in with their thoughts encouraging investors to buy Apple stock. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster Munster said he saw a 70 percent chance that Apple would launch wide screen, multi-touch iPods. “In light of the fact that the tag line of Apple’s special event invitation was “The beat goes on,” the final words of the Beatles last press release, we expect Apple to announce the availability of the Beatles music library on iTunes,” Munster wrote. We’ll be in Austin, but

Give your iPod a personal touch

There are tons of iPod cases at the Apple store to choose from, but what if you want a case that shows your personality a little bit more? Gerbera Designs has now created 13 variants of iPod covers that are well-designed and let your personality shine through. Gerbera Designs is the brainchild of Vannessa Brady and her husband. They initially made purses, but they switched to making iPod covers when Vanessa and her husband bought an iPod. The iPod covers are only $25 each. Each is handcrafted and takes about 14 days before you can get it. It does seem well designed with an opening for the mic port, a charging opening, and a velcro closure. Gerbera Designs next project will be an iPod tote. Which would actually be useful since my iPod ends up bring squashed at the bottom of my purse. You can see more designs and purchase

The all-in-one digital camera and printer

Zink has created this integrated digital camera with a built in full color printer. It works just like a normal digital camera, you can preview the picture before you print it and only print out the ones you want. The photos print out as 2 X 3 prints. Even though this is a gadget, I think it’s a perfect accessory to a party. You can have a couple of these around the place and then let people take random pictures and place them on a party poster/wall. Instant memorial to the party. Let people catch and print instant party moments. You probably just want to make sure they don’t walk away! I’m actually surprise that this little guy is 7 megapixels. It should be a great picture! I’m pretty impressed. This will be one addition to a party you probably won’t want to miss. [credit Engadget]

A little Meditation with Danica McKellar

During my interview with Danica McKellar, she revealed that today was the release date for her new Yoga video, Daily Dose of Dharma. Danica is an extremely busy girl and in order to keep herself stress free, she practices yoga. For the two DVD set, Danica teams up with her mother, a world-renown meditation instructor, Mahaila McKellar and certified yoga instructor Christy Marsden. “After practicing meditation or yoga, I always have a better perspective- I can see things more clearly, I’m more in touch with my creative center, and I feel better all over,” says Danica. Daily Dose of Dharma is a collection of eight 10-20 minute yoga and meditation segments. Which is perfect for those of us that get stressed even trying to find time to relax. “We created Daily Dose of Dharma,” she adds, “as an easy way for people to take a quick but profound break from

Blinged out accessory, but is it really what people want?

This new blinged out shuffle from a Norwegian Company will set you back $20,000. It’s a mix of gold and diamonds. The recent trend started by Paris Hilton to bling every electronic device they own seems to still be going strong, but I have yet to see any friends or people in real life do the same. Is anyone other than the rich that seem to just use it as a status symbol actually blinging out their wares? iPod Shuffle $99 to bling it out? $20,000 Is it really worth that?

    PoxNora & Octopi – GenCon ’07

PoxNora & Octopi at GenCon 2007 Pox Nora is a Collectible Online Strategy Game based on gaming with Collectible Cards and Miniatures developed by Octopi. At GenCon, I got the chance to sit down with the president of Octopi and Game Designer for PoxNora, Dan Kopycienski. According to Dan, PoxNora was created out of a love for miniature gaming and role-playing coupled with a decline in the time he had to invest in those types of games. PoxNora is truly a combination of those gaming systems, with the addition of Collectible Cards and Online Strategy play. To play PoxNora, you create an account on the website, where you can dive right in the Training Grounds with a basic set from one of the eight factions available in the game. You have a number of Runes available to play in each game, and each Rune represents a Relic, a Spell or

    GenCon Day Four

Day Four was by far the shortest day. Not only because it’s the shortest day for the Exhibition Hall to be open, but mostly because I only signed up for one event. Ten am was far too early for a game Sunday morning (I’ve learned my lesson) but I sucked it up to make a Warhammer Fantasy Role-Playing session called, “Rough Justice”. “Rough Justice” was a pre-fab adventure to preview the new Warhammer Fantasy book supplement, Realm of the Ice Queen. Unfortunately for the GM running the game only three of us showed up to play, I’m guessing because it was Sunday morning. The GM was nice enough and well enough prepared for the adventure, but the game suffered due to the very hurried plot with only three players. The game ran a little short, coming in at two and a half hours, with a break. Afterwards, I headed back

    Gencon Day Three

Day Three for me was a day of seminars. The first was a seminar entitled “Keep Your Science out of My Fiction”. It was run by VV_GM from the Treasure Tables website. The seminar itself was about how to be a decent GM; how to keep the rules from disrupting the game in a role-playing game. Despite the misleading name of the seminar, it was enjoyable with several good tips for GMs on leading a successful game group. It’s also interesting to note that I was the only woman in the room. My second seminar was the Women in Gaming Roundtable Discussion put on by the Gamer Wenches. It was a forum for women to discuss what it’s like to be a girl in the gaming world. For the most part this was a really great discussion group. The GW girls said they’d been afraid that people would show up,
