2K announces a “Duke Nukem Forever” special edition complete with metal anatomy
If you didn’t know already, Mr. Duke Nukem has (sigh) “balls of steel.” And his metallic (sheesh, I hope that’s not literal) dangly bits are the titular item for 2K Games’ “Balls of Steel” edition of Duke Nukem Forever (for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC). This collector’s edition is going to cost you a hundred bucks (minus a penny) and only be available at GameStop and Amazon, but we’ve only been waiting for the game for…what? Twelve years now? A big collector’s edition was to be expected. This edition of the game gets exclusive cover art along with a crazy amount of Duke swag that, dare I say it, actually makes the Benjamin price tag worth it. Here’s the full list: Collectible bust of the greatest alien ass-kicker of all-time Numbered, limited-edition certificate of authenticity 100-page hardcover book: The History, Legacy & Legend: Duke Nukem Forever Art from the Vault

“NBA 2K11″ adding 3D for PS3 at Best Buy in two weeks
NBA 2K11 is already pretty lifelike for a basketball game, and sports games are where being realistic is appreciated by fans. It’s going to be taking another step out of your television when a free PS3 update for the game adds the ability to play in 3D. “The authentic broadcast presentation of NBA 2K11 is something we’re really proud of,” said Greg Thomas, president of product development for 2K Sports. “The new 3D capabilities literally add a new dimension to the experience and provide a level of immersion that has never been experienced in a basketball video game.” Unfortunately, the initial rollout is only at Best Buy locations, so you may have to relocate your plans for a 3D NBA Finals. The downloadable game upgrade for home gamers won’t come until January 2011, but it will be free. For more information, visit www.2ksports.com/nba2k11.

Go on an adventure in a “Mafia II” DLC pack
2K Games announced that a new DLC add-on for Mafia II today – “Joe’s Adventures” – will be available November 23. It is a continuation of the original Mafia II story centered around Vito Scaletta’s friend Joe Barbaro. It takes place in a period of time during which Vito is in prison. The add-on provides new places to explore, including a “cathouse” (mrow?) and a train station. It also adds 20 more classic Playboys to the game’s collection, as well as new clothing and music. The meat of the add-on, however, revolves around city-based quests. The add-on will sell for $9.99 (or 800 MS Points, pick your poison). Watch the trailer below to get a better idea of what you’ll be dealing with. Video Games | Mafia II: Joe’s Adventures | Exclusive Debut Trailer XBox 360 | Playstation 3 | Nintendo Wii

Irrational Games Teases with BioShock Gameplay Screenshots
Tiffany shed a tear while she watched the gameplay trailer that Irrational & 2K Games released at the end of September. Be prepared to weep a little more (out of sheer agony because this game isn’t slated to be released until 2012). This Angel is hopeful that it won’t give her an aneurysm, especially after BioShock 2 (the horror…). And so, without much more ado, the beautiful screenshots! So who else is itching to get their hands on this game? Tell us in the comments!

“Civilization V” coming to Mac, thanks to Aspyr
Well, now it’s time for Mac gamers to say goodbye to their productivity. Sid Meier’s Civilization V is coming to Mac OS X sometime this holiday season. The game is being published by Aspyr Media, in partnership with 2K Games. “The Civilization franchise is a fan favorite and one of the best-selling Mac games ever. We are thrilled to be able to participate in this newest version and bring Mac gamers this native experience so close to the PC launch,” said Ted Staloch, Aspyr’s Executive Vice President. The features are identical to the PC version’s – hexagonal tiles, ranged fighting, animated leaders speaking their native languages…everything that had fans in a tizzy. No clue which part of the “holiday season” they’re talking about, but for fans of the series, sooner is better than later (unless sooner means a bad port, in which case – take your time).

2K announces “Civilization V” add-ons
The first DLC for Civ V is coming – this month. The first add-ons for the title will be available October 25 via digital distribution (like Steam, for instance). The first new add-on, the Mongols Civilization and Scenario Pack, will be free. Surprise gift! It allows you to play as Mongols and work to take over the largest continuous land mass, starting in the steppes of Asia. The second add-on previously came free with the Digital Deluxe Edition (meaning that it’s not so exclusive anymore) – the Babylonian Civilization Pack will be available for all players who didn’t get a Deluxe Edition for $4.99. With it, you play as Nebuchadnezzar II, the King of Babylon. You’ll expand your empire using Babylonian Bowmen. This is the first time a Civ title has gotten DLC – are you leaders of the world pleased with this development? I’m personally still holding out for

Here’s your first chance to play “Duke Nukem Forever”
Missed your shot at Borderlands? Love Duke Nukem? Then you’ll love what 2K and Gearbox are doing. The Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition comes with the entire Borderlands DLC catalogue (including Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution). It also costs exactly the same as a brand-new game – $59.99 for consoles, and $49.99 for PC. That much is what we’ve come to expect from GOTY Editions. However, this version gets a special treat – a free membership certificate to the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club, which gives you access to the DNF demo…as soon as it’s available. Not immediate, but as early as possible. The game itself will be out in 2011, so that year is probably your best bet to play the demo, as well.
