Microsoft’s Kinect priced at $150, includes “Kinect Adventures”
After avoiding announcing a price for its Kinect camera peripheral during E3, followed by a few weeks of speculation, Microsoft is putting the rumors to bed by announcing that yes, Kinect will ring up at $150. This confirms Amazon’s post-E3 Kinect pricing. What’s in the box? The proprietary cables necessary to use the camera on the latest Xbox 360 systems, as well as the ones required for usage on the original 360 console. In addition, you also get Microsoft’s “Kinect Adventures,” which has support for two players and 20 different game modes. At least 15 third-party games will be available at launch. In addition, Microsoft also announced a new 360 bundle that includes everything you need to get started in the world of controller-free gaming – the new 4GB console (with wi-fi built in, as well as 4GB of space), Kinect and Kinect Adventures – all for $299. Harmonix’s “Rock Band 3″ pre-order bonuses announced
Harmonix announced their Rock Band 3 bonuses today for everyone who chooses to pre-order the game, which impressed quite a few people at E3 last month (our staff included). This installment will include 83 songs and be compatible with all previous Rock Band peripherals, as well as some third-party instruments. (Mad Catz is the official peripheral manufacturer for RB3.) Unlike a lot of games, Rock Band 3 has pre-order bonuses for multiple stores – not just GameStop. Here’s what you can get if you order the game in time for its October 26, 2010 (shipping simultaneously worldwide) debut: GameStop: If you reserve Rock Band 3 for PS3 or 360 at your local GameStop, you get three songs (sorry, nothing for Wii and Nintendo DS): “Burning Down the House” by Talking Heads “My Own Summer” by Deftones “Blue Monday” by New Order Amazon: If you prefer to do your pre-ordering through

Yes, if the PlayStation Store just isn’t doing it for you lately, Burn Zombie Burn! is now available elsewhere…Amazon.com. Vampire Apocalypse now available for the Kindle
Permuted Press recently announced the release of the first two books in author Derek Gunn’s Vampire Apocalypse trilogy will now be available for Kindle users. Not only that, A World Torn Asunder has been revised and extended for this edition! And these aren’t your romantic vampires either. In the novels, the drying up of oil resources throws the population into an End of Days panic. Communities become more insular and technology stagnates, and in this environment the vampires arise to seize power. Humans are thrown into walled cities to breed and are watched over by terrifying thralls during daylight hours. In this slavery, Peter Harris and a small group of humans try to stand against the vampires and their thralls to free humanity against their new-found slavery. “Derek Gunn didn’t reinvent the vampire novel. Instead he stripped it back to its roots, in the process tearing away the pretensions other

Amazon.com buys Zappos for $850 million
Amazon.com has purchased online retailer, Zappos.com. Tony Hsieh the CEO of Zappos.com, wrote a CEO Letter about the new business deal and how it affects the employees. In short, it won’t. This morning, our board approved and we signed what’s known as a “definitive agreement”, in which all of the existing shareholders and investors of Zappos (there are over 100) will be exchanging their Zappos stock for Amazon stock. Once the exchange is done, Amazon will become the only shareholder of Zappos stock. Over the next few days, you will probably read headlines that say “Amazon acquires Zappos” or “Zappos sells to Amazon”. While those headlines are technically correct, they don’t really properly convey the spirit of the transaction. (I personally would prefer the headline “Zappos and Amazon sitting in a tree…”) We plan to continue to run Zappos the way we have always run Zappos — continuing to do
