Reverb’s Publishing Program Brings More to the Digital Marketplace

Reverb Communications, a company best-known for public relations and marketing (they’ve worked with RedOctane of Guitar Hero fame in the past), announced their plans to offer digital publishing today to help smaller and mid-level developers get their project to the digital marketplace. So, for any digital title, they’ll be taking care of all the little things leading up to release: ESRB submission, testing, first-party submission, and accounting. They are able to submit games to the PlayStation Store, Xbox LIVE Arcade, the App Store, and WiiWare. They’ve already done this (and had success!) with quite a few digital titles, like Greed Corp, iSamJackson and Cro-Mag Rally. To learn more about their digital publishing offerings, visit http://www.reverbpublishing.com.

Two Dr. Seuss ebooks comes to the iPhone

Two Dr. Seuss books are coming to the iPhone App Store as e-books. But these aren’t simple books transformed into an electronic version. Oceanhouse Media created the app to either read the story to the child or allow the child to read it at their own pace. Pages are changed with a swipe and words are highlighted as the automatic reader goes. The Cat in the Hat and Dr. Seuss ABC are the first two books, but I definitely hope that more Dr. Seuss books will get the same treatment. [source via Frisky Mongoose]

FastTrac Disneyland App Unveiled at MacWorld

During MacWorld this week, a new app for the Iphone and the Ipod Touch were unveiled on Wednesday.  The whole purpose for the app is to help visitors to Disneyland in California reduce the time they spend waiting in line for rides. What the FastTrac app does differently then other app is it creates a schedule where you will wait less time in line for some of your favorite rides.  During the testing the maximum amount of waiting time was about 10 minutes even for the most popular rides such as Splash Mountuain. It also supplies the user with a map of the park. How the app works is that users choose the attractions they wish to ride, the date they will be at the park, and the time that they will be arriving. Then FastTrac(TM) creates a schedule for the user that will get them on the most rides with the least amount of wait time.

Review: Woolly the Jumper iPhone/ iPod Touch

There is a lot to like about Woolly the Jumper. The game is very stylish and has fun background music. You play as a sheep running from a crazed farmer who robs you of both wool and life. Rating: 4+ System: iPhone/ iPod Touch Developer: Assyria Game Studio Genre: Platformer/ Sidescroller PASS Woolly uses a trajectory based system to jump from one platform to another across the screen. The trajectory is not perfect. Although the angles all looked correct, I still sometimes missed ledges and ended up back at the first jump. If this were the only issue, the games would still be very addictive. You’ll notice I said “if.” Sadly, it isn’t the case. Woolly is being
