Sharon Wood is an innovative female leader in the former “boys club” of the gaming industry, her past experience includes work on projects like Grand Theft Auto.  Now, Sharon is debuting Luminous, a lifestyle app that allows women to compare their opinions with those of famous female leaders. The game seeks to continue the discussion about ladies’ growing power in the gaming industry and Stone Creek’s unique approach. Ellen’s Know or Go App

The new Ellen Show game called No or Go is a hoot. It is a trivia game that tests your knowledge of general information. The categories include Movies and Music, Geography, History, Pop Culture and random stuff. You have to know your Ellen show references as well. The App has questions ranging from Easy, Medium and Hard. The levels progress the more you answer correctly. You can select a female or male avatar to play as. You can also customize your character by putting in your own photo for your face. Then you can pick clothing and skin tone. I have seen console games with character customizations that don’t match the capabilities of this little App. As long as you get the answers right, you are fine. But when you get it wrong, your character falls down a hole, just like on the show. You are given Life Savers, which

    Apple Sues Amazon

I happened to be shopping for pet accessories on the amazon.com website and couldn’t help but see the great big banner at the top of the page. It clearly says “AppStore”. It was easy to see why Apple would sue them. It could be confusing to consumers who are used to The App Store meaning the official Apple App Store. The Amazon Appstore, will have it’s hands full starting with a lawsuit from Apple. Their plan to sell Androids’ mobile apps, could be perceived to encroach on Google by going around them. Leaving Google out of the equation will be certain to test Google’s resolve to be open source. Although, open source usually excludes taking the software and using it to make a profit. Amazon could find themselves in a pain sandwich between the two giants. A trademark infringement suit began on Friday from Apple, which claims ownership of the

    Infinity Blade for iOS Updated

Infinity Blade is a good stress reliever. I’ve been playing it on iPad. There seems to be more moves in there. More opportunities to stab come up. There are a few more finishing moves. My character seems to be making a few different new strikes too. People who criticize Infinity Blade for being repetitive might not enjoy games like Chess or Golf. The challenge is to best your self and better your scores and effectiveness in battle. In some ways it reminds me of Soul Calibur. It is a great game with excellent graphics. There have been some problems running it that have been reported recently. I beat the God King and my game crashed, returning me to the last checkpoint. It was a big disappointment. Unfortunately like many people posting comments in the App Store, Infinity Blade is crashing frequently on the original iPad. With an new iPad 2

    iRig and iMic

Have you ever wanted a practice amplifier for an acoustic-electric, or electric guitar that is the size of your iPhone, iPod or iPad and had effects too? Not many years ago you would not have believed it possible. IK Multimedia created the AmpliTube software a few years back, and once iOS came along they started making not only the software, but also the iRig. That tiny little item does a great big job of making it possible for a guitar to be attached directly to any iDevice. The iRig adaptor manages the guitar’s input and allows you to plugs directly into the iPad or iPhone/Pod using the 3.5mm headphone jack, without toasting the thing. It just doesn’t seem like it would be feasible, but it is and it works great. Then you can listen to your guitar either through the earbuds, or the speaker. The iRig itself is small and

Why You Want an iPad 2 or Don’t

Many people have been asking “What is the difference between the iPad and the iPad 2?” it may be a while before the iPad 2 makes it around to many of the people who want one. If past trends are repeated, the iPad 2 which does not go on sale until March 11th, would sell out during pre-orders anyway. That gives most people more time to think about it, and wait until the early adopters have had a chance to try them out. There is also going to be a secondary market to come from the original iPads being sold. Whether you are going for your first magical device, or your second, this spring will be full of Apple’s blossoms in the economy. There are a few things that geeks continue to buy even when the money is down. Apple gear, and video games. One of the basics is iPad
