Looks like 38 Studios and Big Huge Games is okay with letting us in on how, exactly, that happened with this lengthy trailer on the game’s art design.

And I mean lengthy — it’s seven and a half minutes long. Grab a glass of lemonade or something. I don’t know. But you will enjoy this. Take a look:

Over the coming weeks, they’ve already got more games they’ll be launching. Individual cartridges will be available for $20. So, if you’re looking to get your hands on a cool copy of God of War to hang on your wall, then you’re going to want to act soon. Below is a picture of the 8 titles that are available later today.

Keep your eyes on http://www.72pins.com/ to grab some of these for yourself. And keep your eyes peeled here on GamingAngels.com for a something special from 72pins.

Brett Booth has recently announced via his blog that an openly gay, Mexican teen named Miguel Jose Barragan (superhero name is ‘Bunker’) will be in the relaunched Teen Titans starting with issue number three.

A little background on the character:

“He was raised in a very small Mexican village called El Chilar. He was very loved by his family and the village as well — and they were as accepting of his homosexuality as they were to his super powers when they first manifested. To that end he grew up in an angst-free environment. He was born out of the closet and so he has a very refreshing outlook on life,” said Scott Lobdell.

“Bunker’s homosexuality is a part of him. The character was created and designed in a way so that readers know he is gay once they see him. “I don’t think we even mention that he’s gay,” Booth says, “You see him, you know it, no need to harp on about it.”

The comics industry continues to push down walls like the superheros they write about and provide progressive characters within the colorful pages. Although there have been members of the LBGT community within comics before, Bunker’s flamboyant look and happy persona is very different then any that have come before him. The introduction of Bunker will be in Teen Titans #3 which is out November 23.

It’s hard to deny the impact that Star Wars has in Pop Culture. The 1977 film, and all the following films in the franchise have allowed generations of people to enjoy and fall in love with the Star Wars Universe. Because of that, it’s not hard to believe that artists are inspired by Star Wars too.

Art for a Galaxy Far Far Away will be held at Hold Up Art from August 20 through September 5, 2011. Professional illustrator and painter Randy Martinez and Denise Vasquez will be showing their Star Wars-inspired works.

Denise has a background in custom vinyl toys and Randy has been working in the Star Wars Universe for a very long time.

Here is the location for the exhibit:
Hold Up Art
358 E. Second Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

The Opening reception is August 20, 3022 from 7-11pm.

“The Art of Video Games” is a Smithsonian American Art Museum exhibit that will be on display from March 16, 2012 to September 30, 2012 in Washington, D.C.

Among the titles that will be showcased? Irrational Games’ BioShock.

“When I worked to put together the list of games, with input from the advisory group, for ‘The Art of Video Games,’ I looked for games that ran the gamut of art, social commentary, storytelling and artistic license, and BioShock combined these elements in new ways,” said exhibition curator Chris Melissinos. “Ultimately, the fans got the final say regarding the games they believe best represent the medium and we’re extremely pleased with the results.”

That final list includes a whopping 80 titles, ranging from five Legend of Zelda titles to Minecraft in addition to the underwater classic with objectivist themes. (Five titles will be available to play, and one of these will be World of Warcraft. I have no idea how that’s going to work out.)

Irrational’s president and creative director, Ken Levine, is obviously pleased.

“The thought of seeing BioShock on display next to Georgia O’Keeffe and Thomas Hart Benton is, well, humbling,” said Levine. “The fact that gamers put us there makes it all the better.”

To see the full list of titles that gamers put there, visit the exhibition’s website.

See, when they’re not creating art for games, game artists are just…well, artists. “Pixelated princesses and cutesy critters pay the bills”,
said Present Creative Co-founder and CEO Ben Sutherland, “but, there’s a wealth of imagination and talent that lies virtually unseen due to the commercial nature of the gaming industry. We’re just providing an outlet for that creativity.”

An outlet that officially goes on display March 3 at Nieto’s gallery space, located at 565 Sutter Street in San Francisco.

The 26 artists at the show have worked with many of the world’s top game companies, including EA, Zynga, Blizzard and Wizards of the Coast.

The exhibit’s gala opening will occur from 7pm-11pm on March 3, and the exhibit itself will run in conjunction with GDC. If you’ll be around and would like to RSVP for the gala, email thegamesweplay@flavorgroup.com.

Designed to go with THQ’s special “uDraw” line of games, you just plug in your Wiimote there on the side and get to drawing.

Too bad this little sucker, priced at $70, won’t function as an actual graphics tablet for those so inclined, but with games like Pictionary on the way, really, who needs a stupid Vitality Sensor when you can get something like this from a third party?

Hats off to THQ for making a Wii accessory that looks pretty cool, even if it is supposed to be for kids in elementary school. A trailer for the device and uDraw Studio is below. For more, visit World of uDraw.

If you’re into completely annihilating your foes with boulders, look no further. Atlus and ACE Team (of Zeno Clash fame) have created Rock of Ages, a strategy game that combines art and music history with a little bit of demolition goodness, what’s not to love? Well, maybe the fact that it won’t be available until Spring 2011.

In the meantime, take a gander at the E3 teaser trailer and read what Aram Jabbari, Manager of Atlus PR & Sales has to say:

“A rock-solid combination of deep strategy, rock-rolling action, and captivating art and music from throughout history, Rock of Ages delivers incredibly satisfying castle-crashing gameplay with a look and feel that’s much more than a stone’s throw from the competition. Truly, the satisfaction felt when successfully crushing your opponent’s intricate defenses with your gigantic siege stone, seeing their forces driven from before you and hearing the lamentation of their citizens, has no equal. Multiplayer support means you can compete against a friend.”

If you want to learn more about Rock of Ages, check out their official website in the near future.
