- Xbox 360 was severely impacted, and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely.
- PC had an outage and the service was offline, but it should either be back or on the way to being back.
- PS3 appeared to have a brief outage, but has quickly recovered and the services is functioning properly at this time. (Huh, kind of like the ApocalyPS3.)

They’re working hard to fix any problems. Apparently all of this started because they had 400% more traffic than any other Battlefield title’s ever had before. Uh, wow.

Our good friends at GameStop have once again teamed up with GamingAngels to bring you the chance to win big. What’s at stake this time? How does an Xbox 360 and a copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 sound to you?

You’ve surely seen the coverage we’ve been posting on the BFBC2 Celebrity Bracket Challenge GameStop is hosting. The Head Angel was on hand for the launch of the Challenge and she had a great time at the event. The tournament has already seen Stacy Keibler‘s team Keibler’s Elves removed from play, as well as Greg Grunberg‘s Yowza! team.

There are four teams left battling it out for tournament domination, and we’d like you to predict the winner.

Now for the rules. You’ll have to be a US resident in order to win and you may only submit 1 entry (any entries after your first one will be disqualified). Contest closes March 11th at 11:59pm Pacific time. The winning Bracket team will be announced on March 12th, and the giveaway winner will be randomly selected from the correct entries.

Last week we went to the Battlefield Bracket Challenge in Los Angeles where celebrities and athletes competed head to head to win the chance to play against you. Now that those celebrity and athletes have been picked, you can sign up at www.gamestop.com/BattlefieldBC2.

The online bracket selection closes March 4. The teams to pick from are mixtures of celebs, athletes and pro gamers.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be in stores on March 2, 2010 in North America.

Players from Major League Gaming will play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on behalf of the celebrity teams in the “Squad Rush” multiplayer mode, which is the special GameStop pre-order exclusive mode.

To participate in the action, you can fill out tournament brackets online at www.gamestop.com/battlefieldbc2 from February 18 to March 4. GameStop will award random prizes, like GameStop gift cards, throughout the contest period, as well as the grand prize of $10,000. EA will donate $25,000 to the winning celebrity team’s designated charity. Full rules and tournament details are available at www.gamestop.com/battlefieldbc2. Winners will be announced on March 23.

This has to be one of the cooler contests, especially if you are interested in a career in Game Design. EA and DICE are inviting gamers to submit their ideas for a great in-game challenge in Bad Company 2. DICE wants your help in creating the achievements and trophies in the game.

You can submit your ideas here, but you may want to hurry as the contest ends on November 19th.
