Meg’s Weekly DC Review
This week has been a bit of a roller coaster for the Big Blue of the Big Two. Usually, when I’m thrusting my hard-earned dollars across the counter of my local comic store, I’m hoping to get the most out of what I’m going to read. Because let’s be honest, even while DC is “drawing the line at 2.99,” three dollars for twenty pages of story isn’t cheap. Still, that doesn’t keep comic nerds from shelling out the cash every week to get their monthly dose of their favorite heroes. That’s what makes week like this a little frustrating for fans. Careful, there are spoilers ahead! This week, my pull list consisted of: Justice League Generation Lost #19: In this issue, Judd Winick’s group of misfit Justice Leaguers are finally taking the fight to Max Lord in order to get back the Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes. While I miss Aaron

GamingAngels Comic Pulls
Welcome to a brand new series on GamingAngels, Comic Pulls. Right after College, I was working hard, for not very much money. But with the money I had, I found entertainment in comics. As GamingAngels, started and grew, I had less and less time to read comics. I bought less and then at some point stopped going to the comic book store altogether. Every now and then, I would hear about a storyline and want to check it out, but I didn’t even have my own store to go to. That is changing now. I’ve decided that I want to enjoy comics again. I want to dive into the worlds and find new artists and writers that I love. With that, I am starting this article. It’s not actually scheduled for a Wednesday because this article will highlight what I ended up picking up Wednesday from my local comic book

“Batman: Arkham City” teaser trailer is ready to smash some heads in
Who’s dressed in black, sneaky, and out of the Asylum? Batman, that’s who. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released a teaser trailer today for Batman: Arkham City that shows the Caped Crusader beating down a few guys before they even know what’s coming. Too bad it’s not actually in-game footage, but I guess we’ll take what we can get. You can start taking down Gotham’s baddies all over again Fall 2011, assuming there aren’t any delays.

The official sequel for “Batman: Arkham Asylum” is “Batman: Arkham City”
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, along with DC Entertainment, announced today that Batman: Arkham City will be the sequel to its incredibly awesome Batman title, Batman: Arkham Asylum. The title is expected to ship for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in Fall 2011. Arkham City comes from the same developer as Asylum, Rocksteady Studios, and has you playing in the latest maximum security facility for Gotham’s thugs and baddies – a sprawling “city” in the heart of Gotham itself. So, we’ve got a brand-new story, with some of the same crazy characters, and quite a few new ones to boot. They also claim that they’ve improved the gameplay experience. (What I’m wondering is how that works, since the original was pretty high on the excellence scale.) If you want more information, go to www.batmanarkhamcity.com. There, you can sign up for updates on the game’s progress. Here’s a trailer for the game, first

“Batman: The Brave and the Bold” Coming to Wii and DS
Batman: The Brave and the Bold, based on the popular animated series, is coming to Wii and DS. Fans of the series will be able to play as Batman, either alone or in a two-player co-op mode. Other available characters include Robin, Green Lantern, Blue Beetle and even drop-in characters like Aquaman. The game appears to focus on action and puzzle-solving, and will feature the vocal talent from the show. One feature we haven’t seen in a while, the ability to connect the DS to a Wii, can come into play in order to unlock Bat-Mite as a playable character. (Unfortunately, it looks like you may have to own copies of the game for both systems for this to happen.) You’ll be able to control Bat-Mite with the DS, or have him fight alongside the other characters in the Wii version. The game will be available this fall (currently listed

Is Iron Man the richest Super Hero in Comics?
Iron Man 2 is out this week in theaters which inspired Ranker.com to put together a list of the richest comic book heroes and villains in comic history. The lists ranks from richest to not so rich. Surprisingly Batman comes in at number 4. Last on the list is blind lawyer, Daredevil. I’m not a huge fan of lists, but it’s an interesting ideas. Too bad not a single female character made the list. I would think Wonder Woman would be rolling in dough. Visit Ranker.com to check out the list.
