Well, Prima is taking a lot of that work out of the process. Some of their guides will now be available on Steam, and you won’t have to switch windows to read them – just use Steam’s UI overlay to read while you play! (You can also read the guide outside of the game, but it wouldn’t be nearly as useful then.)

The launch collection, available now for 50% off, includes quite a few epic games: Dragon Age: Origins, Just Cause 2, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Looks like you’ll have some friends to spam with grenades for a while…or not, if you pay attention to this PSA, modeled after a similar, and more offensive, Modern Warfare 2 video.

Best question yet: Can we play as C.C.?

I do wonder, however, if they rushed to get this news out to somewhat overshadow Final Fantasy XIII, which is also pulling in some big numbers. If they get it wrong…well, that’s what happens when you decide that March ends on the 18th instead of the 31st.

- Xbox 360 was severely impacted, and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely.
- PC had an outage and the service was offline, but it should either be back or on the way to being back.
- PS3 appeared to have a brief outage, but has quickly recovered and the services is functioning properly at this time. (Huh, kind of like the ApocalyPS3.)

They’re working hard to fix any problems. Apparently all of this started because they had 400% more traffic than any other Battlefield title’s ever had before. Uh, wow.

You’ve surely seen the coverage we’ve been posting on the BFBC2 Celebrity Bracket Challenge GameStop is hosting. The Head Angel was on hand for the launch of the Challenge and she had a great time at the event. The tournament has already seen Stacy Keibler‘s team Keibler’s Elves removed from play, as well as Greg Grunberg‘s Yowza! team.

Now for the rules. You’ll have to be a US resident in order to win and you may only submit 1 entry (any entries after your first one will be disqualified). Contest closes March 11th at 11:59pm Pacific time. The winning Bracket team will be announced on March 12th, and the giveaway winner will be randomly selected from the correct entries.

This Wednesday, EA kicked off their “Spring Into Spring!” event at the Hudson Terrace in NYC. The line up of games included; Battlefield Bad Company 2, Need for Speed World Online, Risk: FACTIONS, Skate 3, Medal of Honor and 2010 FIFA World Cup: South Africa. It also show cased new content for EA Online via Pogo, and Dante’s Inferno. EA is definitely trying expand all of their titles in terms of online multi-player and creativity. Playing with friends online and customization seemed to be a the new focus in many of their upcoming and current titles especially.

Skate 3 will have far more replay value now than it’s predecessor, as it will now feature a “Create Your Own Skate Park” feature, customizable in any way the player wishes. You’ll also be able to upload them online for other players to try, rate and favorite. Players will also be able to start their own skating team, comprised of up to 10 players each. They also unveiled a “Create Your Own Trial” mode, where you can create your own skating challenge to upload online as well.

Dante’s Inferno will also be expanded on, and will include a new playable character in their April Downloadable Content release; Saint Lucia. I had the chance to try her out, and she plays quite differently from Dante, primarily due to flight mechanics. It’ll also introduce a new online co-op feature, along with co-op trials. The biggest update to the game however would be the “Create Your Own Trial” feature, which will allow players to create a custom challenge mode which can be uploaded online. The customization in this area was very in depth, including level hazard placement, enemy spawn placement and difficulty of enemies.

I also had the chance to sit down and try Need for Speed World: Online, which will be the first MMO in the series. Along with Battlefield Bad Company 2, which launched on Tuesday, the game will have a 3D option. Playing it with the 3D glasses was pretty fun in both games, and was nicely integrated as well. Signs you crash into seem like they’re flying directly at you, really immersing you in the game’s atmosphere. It will also feature a great deal of customization for the cars. Players will be able to control the color and parts for every section of their car, including uploading their own graphics and logos into the game.

EA had a great showing which will appeal to a wide range of interests, right down to playing Scrabble through Pogo and EA Online.
