Review – The Beatles: Rock Band

Title: The Beatles: Rock Band Publisher: MTV Games Developer: Harmonix Platform(s): PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii Release Date: September 9, 2009 BUY!! The Beatles is one of the few bands that have never been included in digital media. Many of us couldn’t believe the announcement when Harmonix stated that they will be creating a musical game with Apple Corp. The Beatles: Rock Band was born and many of us played it and every press event we could. Microsoft Game events, E3, PAX we waited in line and played when we could. It was just recently when Harmonix sent us a copy of the game, that I got to see what The Beatles: Rock Band experience really would be like. The opening cinematic gives you a good idea of what the art style will be in the game. The art style used is brilliant. Harmonix wanted to create a hyper-real rendition

There is nothing like celebrating The Beatles Rock Band Release and Beatles Month with an iPhone app that honors The Beatles for what they really are about; the music.  This app is all about is having as much Beatles information available to you, right at your fingertips.  Currently in the app, you’ll be able to find discography, biographies, and Fun Facts about The Beatles!  It’s still in development however, but there’s music samples and trivia already in the works.  I played with the app within the Test Phone application; it was very classic in format, but provides you with information most Beatles’ fans would appreaticate.  But you already know all the insiders information don’t you? Dark Void moving to Q1 2010

Dark Void is the latest title to be yanked from a Holiday release and pushed back to 2010. Joystiq had the first information on the delay. Chris Kramer told Joystiq that the move was , “in order to get the game out of the crowded fall game season.” While some might agree that after Modern Warfare 4, Beatles Rock Band, and Halo 3 ODST there may not be room in gamers wallets for more, Q1 2010 is starting to be incredibly crowded. Titles delayed to Q1 are Splinter Cell: Conviction, Bioshock 2, Singularity, Bayonetta, Red Steel 2, and probably Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption. In addition to previously announced titles for Q1 like, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, MAG, Darksiders, Aliens vs. Predator, and Alan Wake. We should probably expect to hear more titles announce delays as companies seem to be unsure as to what will sell this

    E3 2009 – Our Beatles Rock Band

There was a lot of excitement at the Microsoft Press Conference when Olivia Harrison, Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney appeared on stage to talk about The Beatles Rock Band coming out on 09/09 of this year, the same day The Beatles music collection is being rereleased.  For those of us that are fans of The Beatles, imagine the excitement of getting to play the game several months before it’s release.  Trina, April and I had a chance to get our hands on both the Wii and Xbox 360 versions of the game during E3.  We didn’t get a lot of time, just a song on each system, and if you’re a Rock Band fan I don’t need to explain how the game plays, because there isn’t a lot of difference.  What’s really awesome about The Beatles Rock Band experience is the way they’ve integrated the look and feel
