Elizabeth and I both love GUNNAR Optik’s glasses. We have run into the company many times at various conventions, and agree that their computer eyewear is a definite help for people on the computer all day.

Initially GUNNAR Optiks positioned themselves as a brand for gamers. Just recently they launched billboards around Los Angeles with various MLG players and Adam Sessler wearing their Gunnars. Now you can get your pair easily.

GUNNAR Optiks’ Advanced Computer Eyewear and Adavance GAming Eyewear are now available at Best Buys nationwide. Prices range from $79.99 to $99.99. The glasses can be taken to about 15,000 eye care providers to get prescription lenses put in.

It doesn’t state if Best Buy will carry the lines that are more for women, but many of their glasses could be worn by anyone.

“Our goal is to see a consolidated eyewear retailing area in every consumer electronics store,” said Aarnes. “While the concept of selling all categories of Digital Performance Eyewear has been successfully tested in regional chains, this launch represents GUNNAR’s first step in having a nationwide presence.”

While we all play video games, the beauty of GUNNAR’s products is how it helps users that are on the computer all day. I have recommended them to people at work who are experiencing eye strain headaches. The feedback has always been good. If you are on the computer for at least three hours a day, you may want to consider heading to a local Best Buy and find a pair of GUNNAR’s you like.

EA Sports is showing their support in the fight against Breast Cancer. They are joining with Susan B. Komen to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At select Best Buy stores, EA Sports Video games will have the Susan B. Komen logo on them to show that they’ve donated $100,000 to research.

“This year marks the third year of commitment on behalf of EA SPORTS in continuing to create awareness in the fight against breast cancer,” said Christopher Erb, EA SPORTS Senior Director of Partnership Marketing. “EA is honored to work with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to spread awareness and to give EA SPORTS consumers an opportunity to participate in finding the cures.”

Breast Cancer affects women of all ages and it’s great to see EA participate to help spread awareness and raise money for research. The games will be in Best Buy stores during the month of October only. The titles that the logo will be on are: FIFA Soccer 11, , NCAA Football 11, NHL 11, Madden NFL 11 and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR®.

“Over the past 30 years, significant advancements have been made in the fight against breast cancer,” said Katrina McGhee, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Komen for the Cure. “Without partners like EA SPORTS, Komen wouldn’t have been able to pay for half a million breast screenings for women last year. Together, we are literally saving lives.”

Three retailers will have GoldenEye 007 bonuses when the game comes out this November.

GameStop is offering a code for an “Invisibility Mode” for multiplayer. It lets you become invisible (like the name would imply) for a short time. To get a look at what this will do for you, visit this link.

Best Buy, on the other hand, gives you a code for Tag Mode in multiplayer. This mode takes the playground pastime to new heights.

Walmart, however, might have the best pre-order bonus. Reserve the game at Walmart.com or buy it in-store on the launch day to get a special “Cheater” t-shirt that features Oddjob’s hat.

Being a cheater never looked that cool.

Happy Birthday to Xbox 360! That’s right the gaming workhorse is four years old today in US and Canada. Only a few weeks ago we celebrated the Xbox Live service, but now it’s time to celebrate the console that we all love and love to hate.

To celebrate let’s talk about what we love about our 360 and what we can’t stand about our 360. Talk about our experiences over the past four years and why it’s the console we just can’t get enough of. I’ll start….

I remember getting my 360 at the launch party in the desert. I had to tell my job that I couldn’t come in because I was going to be in the desert for 24 hours in order to be one of the first people to buy a 360. I remember it being cold, playing all the new first party titles, and they even had musical acts. But at midnight when Best Buy came through and unloaded those first 360s it was love at first sight. I purchased my 360 and a NBA title. That way Matt and I could jump right into co-op. I remember how heavy that thing was and how I struggled to carry that and various swag from the event. Fast forward to a year ago and that 360 red-ringed. Only a matter of time I guess. So I mailed it out and now the fixed 360 is in our den. Probably one day to go in the bedroom. While that 360 was out, Matt bought an Elite which is what we play all the time now.

We own all the consoles, but I have to say I play my 360 more than most. I am excited to see where Microsoft takes their console and what ideas they have for the future (want to get my hands on Project Natal!). Happy Birthday Xbox and to the Xbox team!
