    Cataclysm Beta Preview: The Goblins

This article will be full of spoilers both lore and gameplay wise. Read ahead at your own risk! Along with playing the Worgen at Blizzcon last year, I also played around with the Goblins. Where the Worgen have a bit more of a serious storyline, the Goblins are  fun. You start off on the island of Kezan which compared to the rest of Azeroth is like finding a major metropolitan city in the middle of the forest. You actually start as a high ranking Goblin who is working to try and get up to the Trade Prince’s level but things begin to go wrong once the volcano on the island begins to erupt (no thanks to you) and the Trade Prince realizes what you’ve been doing and sends Pirates to crash your party. Before leaving Kezan there are some fun quests in order to raise money to get yourself off

    Cataclym Beta Preview: The Worgen

This article will be full of spoilers both lore and gameplay wise. Read ahead at your own risk! So I had the chance last year at Blizzcon to play the new Worgen class and I must say it was a good look at what was to come with the next WoW expansion, it wasn’t a complete one. To keep part of the story a secret, players were only allowed to start at level 6 and play from there. Well my suspicions regarding levels 1-5 proved to be correct in that those first few levels it shows you trying to battle against the worgen attacking Gilneas and in turn becoming one. You fight along side King Greymane and Prince Liam, along with a convicted criminal named Darius Crowley (which made me think of this every time!). The storyline which goes from fighting off the worgen threat changes to the undead as

    Cataclysm beta begins!

Well the Warcraft universe is all a twitter (literally) since the Cataclysm closed beta has begun! If you’ve registered, you may have been lucky to get a beta invite and are happily exploring the new content. But for some who weren’t lucky (or forgot to change your system settings like myself /cough) you’re just reading and refreshing various web pages to see what’s new. Then again not all of the waves of invites have gone out yet, so some may still get lucky! This of course also means that the NDA has been lifted, so I highly recommend checking out MMO Champion as all of their information is now going live again and with some updates. So I’ve been going through images and info I missed the first time around. One thing I like so far is the new druid forms. The Worgen versions remind me of metal head kids

    First Look: Halo Reach Beta

As many of you know, yesterday (March 3rd) is the first day of the Halo Reach Beta for all of you that already own Halo 3: ODST. First of all, the beta is a staggering 1.31 GB (or thereabouts) and even with a fast connection will take about 5-10 minutes. If you have a super slow connection or one that is notoriously glitchy, let me tell you right now that you should just set up the download and go eat dinner or something. It’ll take to up to a half hour sometimes. The big thing to remember is that since you’re using the ODST disc, you have to keep the download screen up because if you close it, the system will think that you mean to play ODST and not continue your download. Once the download is done, you’ll find a very nice welcoming screen. You’ll get the chance to

Ubisoft launches UPlay services with Assassin’s Creed II

Assassin’s Creed II launched last night at midnight and Ubisoft has announced that players on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 will be able to use the interface in-game to connect to the UPlay beta. What is UPlay? UPlay is Ubisoft’s online network that has four primary services: Uplay Win, Uplay Help, UPlay Share, and UPlay Shop. Only UPlay Win will be in the beta. UPlay Win lets players collect units based on their action in the game and exchange for exclusive in-game content or goodies. In Assassin’s Creed II, a real Altaïr costume and exclusive in-game content such as access to the Auditore Family Crypt are some of the initial awards. But gamers could keep their points for when Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction comes out. Gamers can visit UPlay.com here.

    1vs100 US beta

For basic information on gameplay or about the Canadian beta, please visit Yukino’s lovely article here. She did a wonderful job covering the basics. I had a slightly different experience with the United States release of the 1 vs 100 beta test June 1. I had downloaded the game a couple hours early as well as set a reminder. I played with a couple of my friends, and all 3 of us managed to get in to play. Of course, we were in the crowd each time, but it was still an interesting adventure. Just because I wasn’t in the mob, it didn’t keep me from not wanting to do my best. There was a lot more variance in the types of questions. Not many were things only US residents would know, and it wasn’t all about gaming, which was a nice surprise. My favorite was when they asked where
