‘Rage’ is a disk space hog for both PS3 and 360

So, if you’re thinking about playing Rage on the PlayStation 3, it might be time for that console hard drive upgrade you’ve been thinking about. (Unless you’re already maxed out and you’re laughing at the mere suggestion.) Guess how much space is required for the install? Eight gigabytes. That’s huge, people. And it looks like Tim Willits over at id is pretty happy about it. “Sony was great,” he told Eurogamer. “Kudos to Sony for letting us do that. They don’t allow every game to do that. So definitely, hats off. What we were able to do is install all the textures to the highest level. What is nice about the PS3 platform is that it’s just one platform. Everyone has one Blu-ray drive, one hard drive, it’s all the same. Some of the other systems you have… should I install it on my 360? Should I not install it?

First DLC for ‘Brink’ coming August 3

The first DLC set for Brink, “Agents of Change,” is set to make its debut on Xbox LIVE, PSN and Steam next week, on August 3. It will be free to download for the first two weeks. The original target date for this content was “early July,” but better late than never, right? Here’s a quick description from Splash Damage/Bethesda: Secrets, lies, and double agents. No one and nothing is at it seems as the arrival of a mysterious ship from the outside world shatters the tentative peace reached between the Resistance and Security factions. The revived battle spreads to two all-new districts of the Ark – the futuristic, underwater Labs facility and Founders’ Tower, the iconic spire housing the island’s wealthy elite. Unleash fury on your enemies with new lethal abilities as your work your way towards the newly raised level cap of 24 and customize your character with

Take a look at the latest ‘Skyrim’ gameplay

Straight from Comic-Con (and E3, apparently), we’ve got video of the fifth Elder Scrolls title, Skyrim. There are lots of dragons, and some of them seem to have an affinity for eating people. Very unfortunate for the people in question. We also see a little bit of combat and conversations with people. Not too shabby, I think. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim releases 11/11/11.

    Review – Hunted: The Demon’s Forge (PS3)

Rating: M for (Mature) Genre: Third Person Action Adenture Publisher: Bethesda Developer: InXile Entertainment Release Date: May 31,2011 BUY If swords and sorcery is what you crave, then Hunted: The Demon’s Forge has all the qualities you might be looking for. It is a third person action RPG published by Bethesda and running on an Unreal Engine. It has a fine pedigree. It doesn’t happen too often but there weren’t many disappointments with it either. It is a pretty seamless third person action adventure with easily accessed RPG elements. You can play as your choice of two mercenaries, a guy Caddoc and E’lara, a hot female elf. In the summer we need more games like this. It has two person co-op on the one console. You can sit down with your cousin, at that rustic family cottage on Cape Cod which has no internet service, and actually have some fun.

‘Fallout: New Vegas’ has the Old World Blues

Bethesda released a small set of screenshots for their latest DLC addition to Fallout: New Vegas yesterday. In “Old World Blues,” you’ll head off to the “Big Empty,” a place where, it’s been assumed, absolutely nothing can survive. Of course, considering that statement, of course you’ll have to go there. And hey, at least it looks like the people were pretty wrong on this one. There’s totally things surviving there. “Old World Blues” releases July 19. Take a look now by browsing the screenshots below.

E3 First Look – Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

One of the most asked about video games at E3 was Skyrim.  I recently posted “what would you guys want to know about E3,” to my Twitter account as well as our Facebook community. It was interesting to see that a lot of the questions where Skyrim related.  Surprised? Not at all, since the game promises to show us a world we haven’t seen before. The Graphics don’t make the game, but in this case, it is required to mention the incredible amount of detail found in the vast lands that Skyrim has to offer. Even the leaves are detailed, on the little plant that you happen to pass by on the road; it’s these small details within the game that are like little unexpected treasures.  I am certain that many of us will stop and smell the flowers many at time during our play through of this game. Skyrim

PAX East 2011: How ‘Brink’ made me reevaluate everything I know about myself (and my relationship with the FPS genre)

About ten seconds in, my first foray into the world of online FPS multiplayer hit a bit of a brick wall. I was probably about 15, I was with my boyfriend, and we were playing Counter-Strike at an early version of an Internet café specifically for gaming. There, it was a LAN party all the time, and people didn’t really play anything that wasn’t Counter-Strike at that point, either. You know, the old one. Where, if you die once, you’re done for that round. I might have gotten five minutes of play during the hour I sat there. It was my first FPS, and it permanently turned me off to online multiplayer. Well, at least I thought so. This was before Brink, and before I got my hands on the game at PAX East this March. I hadn’t seen a lot about the game beforehand, and that’s mostly my fault,

RAGE comic book in the works

Bethesda and Dark Horse Comics are bringing the story of an upcoming game to the comic world. The mini series is written by Arvid Nelsion and takes place before the events in the game. The comic is a three issue series, that will be available on June 22,2011. Only a few days after my birthday. I love that the game industry is starting to use comics to tell a tale that is woven and expands the universe of the game. RAGE the game is slated for a September 13th release date.

“Hunted: The Demon’s Forge” apparently features a giant, flying eye

It’s time for a Hunted: The Demon’s Forge trailer! Yay! (No, really, I’ve been wanting to see more.) This time, we get to see some gameplay – which, so far, is actually pretty action-packed – as well as a little bit of story. Excellent. The trailer also touts a unique co-op experience, and I hope we get to learn a little bit more about that in the near future. Oh, and there’s also a flying eye. Yeah. Hunted (for PC, 360 and PS3) is on store shelves June 1. Watch the gameplay trailer below.
