“Borderlands” DLC is full of claptrap

When I say “claptrap,” I don’t mean pompous speech, either. This September, Borderlands is getting its fourth add-on, “Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution,” and you can buy it for either 800 MS Points, or $9.99 (depending on your platform of choice, of course). The single-player and co-op campaigns involve suppressing a revolution of Claptraps. You’ll play as one of four vault hunters in the midst of a brutal civil war between Hyperion Corporation and the giant army of Claptraps, led by the Ninja Assassin. You’ll have to put aside any hate you have for Hyperion to bring down the robot army (and Ninja Assassin) for a hefty paycheck. Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution offers co-op opportunities, just like its predecessors, and brings together the worlds of single-player and multiplayer seamlessly. This add-on brings you more than 20 new missions and more enemies to blow to pieces. No, you won’t get a level

    Review: Borderlands

Borderlands may be the most ridiculously ridiculous, addictive, fun, and amazing game on the market. The designers behind this offering know exactly what they’re doing – making something enjoyable without excess baggage. Rating: M Genre: FPS/RPG Publisher: 2K Games Developer: Gearbox Players: 1-4 Release Date: October 20, 2009 BUY I’ve tried putting my finger on what makes me like Borderlands so much, and it’s really hard to do without saying things that may come across as negative. It’s also becoming hard for me to put down words here to describe a game that has so little. It’s so much more of an experience or an adventure than something modular that can be broken down into gradable sections. I’ll do my best, though. As I’ve said before, I really like that Borderlands doesn’t waste your time with a story. Don’t get me wrong, there is a story, but you don’t need

Borderlands & Fallout 3 – Why You Should Buy Both

If you pay any attention to the world of gaming at all, you’ve probably heard the comparisons between the recently released Borderlands, and 2008′s Fallout 3. While there are several delicious similarities between the two, I am going to take a moment to tell you why buying both is really your only option. First, a bit about each. In Fallout 3 you assume the role of  a young, underground vault inhabitant who finds themselves navigating a post-apocalyptic wasteland of Washington D.C. (the Capital Wasteland) in search of Dad. Along the way you encounter mutated animals, horrible raiders and scavengers, and higher-up baddies. The FPS/RPG-style game has you combing the blighted city for answers, while completing quests that further the story (or many that don’t) along the way. In Borderlands you assume the role of one of four character types: Siren (token girl), Hunter, Soldier, or Berserker. You find yourself navigating

First Downloadable Content for Borderlands Out Now

Borderlands fans are going to be happy to hear that the first downloadable content will be out today on Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network for 800 MS Points and $9.99, respectively. Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned brings zombies into the Borderlands world. Players work alongside Dr. Ned to try and cure the zombies. Curing instead of shooting…interesting. “We are very excited to present fans of the highly acclaimed Borderlands with the first expansion,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned presents a bold new storyline that entertains and excites, and simultaneously ensures that fans still receive the same great gameplay experience that made the original game a success.”
