Remember Inuyasha? Some of you may be familiar with series from it’s animated run-through on Cartoon Network’s “Adult Swim” programming, which is just one of the mediums that many of Takahashi’s works have been adapted, including Films and even Live Action TV. Luckily, our favorite graphic novels and manga series’ will always carry-on in our fond memories, especially when we’re given satisfying holiday tidbits we wouldn’t normally come across in-stores. It’s like a continuation of amazing, particularly where stubborn, half-demon mutts are concerned. The holidays bring nippy weather and awesome box-sets of goodness. Such is the case with VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media) and their November 10th release of Rumiko Takahashi’s original manga series, Inuyasha.

“INUYASHA brought creator Rumiko Takahashi renowned fame throughout the world and the series has been enjoyed by millions of readers in Japan and North America,” says Elizabeth Kawasaki, Senior Editorial Director, VIZ Media.

How does this edition differ from the standard, 5 x 7-1/2 graphic novel, you ask? The VIZBIG Omnibus edition of Inuyasha will still feature the original left-to-right manga style presentation, but the company’s SHONEN SUNDAY imprint has upped the ante with a whole-new spin on the fan-favorite. The 2002 award-winning series will be available in a larger, 5-3/4 x 8-5/8 size and packed with three volumes of the original graphic novel. The VIZBIG Omnibus Edition of Inuyasha is an exciting revival for long-time fans and newcomers alike to enjoy. Anyone interested in joining Kagome and friends on her quest to uncover her past and the powerful Shikon jewel may pick-up their copy for $17.99 U.S. / $24.00 CAN. The VIZBIG Omnibus Edition of Inuyasha is rated ‘T+’ for Older Teens.

Episodes from the action-packed series conclusion – INUYASHA THE FINAL ACT – currently stream on ShonenSunday.com/anime and Hulu.com mere hours after they air in Japan.
Yesterday was Toonami’s final broadcast. After 11 years of bringing various anime to you, Cartoon Network has decided to close down this programming block. Toonami has most recently only been showing Naruto, but has been responsible for showing many anime titles such as Voltron, Robotech, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Ronin Warriors, G-Force: Guardians of Space, Blue Submarine No. 6, Tenchi Muyo!, Cardcaptors, Zoids, .hack//SIGN, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, The Big O, Outlaw Star, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Cyborg 009, Duel Masters, Astro Boy, Gundam, Rave Master, Zatch Bell, One Piece, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Pokemon, MiR, The Prince of Tennis, Megaman Star Force, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and Blue Dragon.

I remember rushing home for lunch my first couple years after college to watch Sailor Moon episodes. What did you love to watch on Toonami? I remember watching Robotech and The Prince of Tennis too.

I’m not certain where that puts the future of anime on Cartoon Network. They are currently working on bringing the Japanese-animated Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z spinoff that is based on its own Powerpuff Girls series. The Toonami Jetstream will remain running and you can catch some anime there: http://www.toonamijetstream.com/.

Goodbye Toonami. It’s been a great 11 years and you will be missed.
